The "official" count that I have seen is 58,148 dead, another 114 died while in captivity. This was from more than 20 years of American involvement; we took over the fighting after the French withdrew.
As bloody as that may seem, deaths from American highways totaled that many or more in two years; usually they figured at LEAST 50,000 deaths by highway EVERY year. At least in the war one had a chance to defend one's self!

all of them.the ones who were not killed in combat or by diseases at the time are still dying now because of exposure to agent orange.i know because my brother died in 2004 and it was ruled a service connected death because of exposure to agent orange.there is a huge list of known diseases and health issues to our veterans from this.it took a year and a half to get them to admit that the diabetes which was an underlying cause of death was caused by the exposure to agent orange.any person who was actively serving in vietnam at the time of the war was exposed.good luck.
