Why don't you suggest volunteering at a homeless shelter or feeding the homeless. These jobs tend to pay minimum wage. He/she will find this to be a very humbling experience. You become grateful and appreciative of your parents, your friends and the world around you on a whole new level.

She can certainly do chores around the house, help with meal preparation, do laundry, learn to iron all these are things that will be helpful as she matures and you may find that she is bratty because she needs some structure in her life that isn't there. Talk to your mom about it perhaps you can encourage her mom to work with you to get her out of her self centered state and get involved in something productive.

If she's really spoiled it's probably just a good idea for her to do chores at home. She's probably not responsible enough to do anything else. Although, if you're really concerned about it you could offer to pay her a few dollars to do some chores at your house. That may be a good lesson for her.

Start washing some cars in the neighborhood. Sell some lemonade on the side...She's 12, there's not much work for that age range.
