No a prophecy.
The Gospel authors quoted their scriptures when they wanted to add reasons for converts to join their young religion, so they wrote in prophecies (including at least one in Matthew that is not actually in the Old Testament) to try to give their religion some credibility.
They did similar things with many of the stories. For instance, the first part of Matthew echoes the story of Moses pretty closely, including hiding (in Egypt!) from a mad king killing babies to wandering in the wilderness for 40 days (instead of 40 years).
The prophecies were just another way to hook people, but they were written in after the fact. It's easy to call them prophecies when you're the one writing the story.

Had you ever wondered why the bible is written 100AD?
Because in a hundred years time, you can create a story that everyone will believe, especially in the era where information was not passed correctly and communication breakdown causing superstition to occur.
The Psalms was written 700 yr BC, and it is for the Jews. The Christians just pick up the famous fables and piece them together then create a book of superstition, creating what you call a self fulling prophecy.

You mean the "prophecy" that was known before the New Testament was written, and can only be corroborated by the new testament?
It's like saying someone is going to win the lottery, waiting for someone to win the lottery, and then printing out a ticket with the already known winning numbers.
The events in the NT were written to CONFORM to the "prophecy".

Yeh the gospel writes noticed that. They pointed out a number of instances. In fact most people don't know that when Jesus said, "My God, My God why have you forsaken me" he was quoting the first verse of Psalm 21. I guess he wanted people to see he fulfillment of that prophecy.

That's known as a "lament," which is a traditional form of ancient Hebrew poetry . . . not a prophecy.
However, it gets *called* a prophecy a lot NOW because the writers of the gospels (not a single one of which was written by whom they claim to have been written by, since those people, if they ever even existed, were all long dead) "back-engineered" their fables to match stuff they found in the Torah.

I love it! And it even came true in the new testament. Wow!
Just like the prophecies in Harry Potter part 1, came true in Harry Potter part 2. I love it when those things happen!

Not much, to be honest. It's not hard to make a prophecy come true when you know what the prophecy says.

That is amazing. David speaks of lots being cast for His clothing. Prophecy that has been fulfilled is such a testament to the entire Bible. I love that stuff.
EDIT:
I just learned even more here:
