I don't know what state you live in, but in MO if an officer is arrested and convicted of felony abuse/assault charges, he can no longer work in law enforcement even a security guard or be licensed to carry a firearm. Just because he is liked and respected by his peers doesn't mean anything. Many people put on a wonderful persona for the outside world. It's what happens behind closed doors that no one knows about until this type of thing happens. It sure doesn't look like his police family is looking the other way. They are probably just shocked that he would do anything like this. If he is arrested, who is looking the other way?

Obviously this officer has anger management problems but to say that his police family is looking the other way is totally off base. As it clearly states in the article he "was arrested over the weekend by Layton police." Seems like you have some anger issues yourself. Why are you so upset with police officers?

Chuck E. Cheese could be a rewarding place, besides the undeniable fact that it may be extra of a "take a woman offspring and go away your son in the back of with a word" fairly of an actual commerce. Your son would be nice as long as you supply him an incredible style of tokens to tutor how lots you adore him. purely keep in mind which you won't be able to commerce back whilst your 15 12 months old daughter comes homestead pregnant, or turns right into a stripper. you're on your very own.

You asked this:
"Why do police officers look the other way when one of family is in trouble?"
Then cut and pasted this:
"John Spencer was arrested over the weekend by Layton police. Police say he assaulted his wife and stepdaughter and broke phones so they couldn't call for help."
Come on Snoop, you justed proved yourself wrong again.

I think you are over generalizing. I don't personally know ANYONE who protects a child abuser once the felony has been made public.
The fact is many people have secret lives. The spokesman for this particular alleged felon said he was likable and respected by the department.
Pedophiles are heinous human beings. They stalk children secretly. It is to their advantage, and a perfect cover, to be well-like and respected in their community. Thus their victims are vulnerable to their abuser when he says, "Who's going to believe you? A crazy housewife and kid or a (policeman) (executive) (teacher) (boy scout leader)?"

Police are people too. One bad does not spoil the whole lot. From the way it sounds, nothing is being excused, he was arrested, has been charged and will pay the price for it. He is just another fowl person in the race of humans. Do not hold the rest of the police department resposible for his acts.

1) What excuse? NONE.
2) Did he have a bad hair day? Could be...
3) Look the other way? Ummm...Looks like they didn't "look the other way": the story says "...was arrested over the weekend..."
4) I find it disturbing that the wife and kids were abused...but I don't see anyone looking the other way.
What do you have against cops? Seems like you've got something else on your mind...Or did you just not read the rest of the story?

I am not surprised. He is a man like all men and after 16 years of the kind of violence and death he has probably seen in the street, it's a wonder more have not snapped. I am not saying they have a right to - it's definitely wrong - but the job he holds is so very, very stressful. Just think about all the others who are out there doing crazy things to their families and ours. People are just out of their minds these days. All we can do is pray for peace.

This is a terrible thing. But it happens all over the world. My ex bf was a police officer and beat his wife. He got away with it. Then was abusing his kids physically. No one did a thing to him. He was not held accountable for it. Now his boys have nothing to do with him. :)

Well that's all part of our great legal system. Unfortunately I've had something similar to this happen to me and it's terrible when it happens. More often than not, nothing will happen to the male abuser because of falure to report and/or dropped charges. This happens everyday, police officer or not, as a human being this shouldn't happen at all. But only in a Perfect World would everything be right and just.........
