Philippians 2:5-7
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
1 John 3:1&2
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU - WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM FOR WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS
I think I know what you are saying. We can be just like Jesus.
1 John 4:17 ..... as he is, so are we in this world.
We see what the scriptures says, true believers can not argue with them. They are the word of God. I have a little trouble understanding them myself. Paul and John both had a great revelation of Jesus Christ. They both speaks of spiritual depts that is beyond what todays church world could even imagine. We need a revelation of the word of God.
My hope is this last major revival will bring about the power of God with understanding.
As I am typeing this my mind is going 100 mph. I think about the prophets of God. Elijah had the power to call fire down from heaven. Elisha had a double portion of the spirit of Elija. Jesus told the early church that the spirit of Elijah had come. The scriptures tells us that the latter house shall be greater than the former house. I believe we can have a double portion of the spirit of Elijah.
In the Strong's Exaustive Concordance of the Bible
Philippians 2:6
equal = 2470 isos; similar, agree, as much, equal, like.
Knowing this meaning I totally agree with Philippians 2:6

Matthew 5:48 Jesus stated "Therefore be ye perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect."
Christ sets an unattainable standard: This sums up what the Law itself demands (James 2:10) Though this standard is impossible to meet, God could not lower it without compromising his own perfection. He who is perfect could not set an imperfect standard of righteousness. The marvelous truth of the Gospel is that Christ has met this standard for us.
II Corinthians 5:21 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
If you read Daniel 3 you can see that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego would rather DIE than disobey God. This is an inspirational story with a message for all christians.
Enoch walked with God.
As far as being EQUAL to God, this is in Genesis 3:4 and it is the ORIGINAL lie fron satan.
If anyone is EQUAL to God, they need to be able to speak the universe into existence, (some people do live in their own little universe), walk on water, raise the dead, (multiple times), command storms and receive obedience from the weather, pass thru walls, turn water into wine, make the lame walk, the blind see, cure leprosy, etc., etc., etc ad nauseum.

Father, Son, Holy Spirit all equal. Jesus was God in human form. Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, (Philippians 2:6)
We are not even good much less God!
They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one. (Psalm 14:3)
There is only one God.
How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?(John 5:44)
Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. (Galatians 3:20)

As we are a part of God - then we are also God, as equal as a part can be.

That is an impossibility for us to be equal to God. He is infinite and we are finite. He is Perfect and sinless and we are imperfect and sinful by nature. He is the Creator and we are the created. There is no comparison and never will be.
Finally the Godhead is closed. There have never been any new members added and never will be. Only the three in one are eternal and had no beginning and will have no end.

John Wesley believed that we can be fully sanctified in this life and reach a state of perfection. That would be like Jesus.
The Mormons not only believe that they can be equal to God but that they will be God. The Mormon faith believes in millions of Gods. More than any religion has ever believed. They make the Pagan religions of Rome, Greece and Egypt seem god deprived by the shear abundance of gods they believe in. I have never gotten a satisfactory answer as to how they decide which one to worship.

every physique who incredibly reads the bible and would not take out of context can see that Jehovah God, ( Yahweh , Jah ) and Jesus Christ are 2 different spirit people in case you will. Why could God spilt himself up and deliver an element of himself all the way down to die and on an identical time as in the worldwide say issues like" i'm no longer better then the guy who sent me?" or Why could he pray to himself? That is senseless in any respect. There are a ton of examples like that interior the bible of Jesus giving glory to his heavenly FATHER no longer Heavenly "twin" or despite. people could desire to make sure the bible themselves and not basically hearsay.

Christian means- Christ-like. We try to become as close to Christ-like as we can by excepting his teachings and practicing them on a concious level daily.
We'll never be equal to God.

Thats not in scripture. Christians are 'joint heirs' with Jesus because we were "adopted' into the kingdom of God. But we do not become God.

We can't be equal to God, then we would be God. But we can be like Christ meaning without sin. The bible tells us what sin is and how to aviod it. Sin is just going aginst how God made us. Sin is like throwing sand in the gas tank.
