I can't say for sure but I think that any illness/accident that would make them vulnerable to needing blood would be "how it's supposed to be, how Jehovah wants it to be" therefore receiving blood would be playing with fate...

Since you are asking a question about a religious group. The Bible many times in the "old testament" states to "pour out the blood onto the ground". Also by cooking the meat until all the redness is gone, this shows that all the living substances (microrganisms) is killed and safe to eat. This does not pertain to meat that has been exposed to contaminates cause by poor sanitary handling. If any questions on food preparation, contact the food and drug Admin., they should will be informative.

The meat has been bled. Are you sure about your point of not being able to let the blood completely out? Where do you get your information?
Blood is also sacred in God's eyes. God says that the soul, or life, is in the blood. So it is wrong to eat blood. It is also wrong to eat the meat of an animal that has not been properly bled. If an animal is strangled or dies in a trap, it should not be eaten. If it is speared or shot, it must be bled quickly if it is to be eaten.
Bleeding continues until the blood flow is negligible when carcass dressing should begin without further delay
Genesis 9:3 -Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for YOU. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to YOU. 4 Only flesh with its soul—its blood—YOU must not eat.
Leviticus 17:13, 14 “‘As for any man of the sons of Israel or some alien resident who is residing as an alien in YOUR midst who in hunting catches a wild beast or a fowl that may be eaten, he must in that case pour its blood out and cover it with dust. 14 For the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood by the soul in it. Consequently I said to the sons of Israel: “YOU must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood. Anyone eating it will be cut off.”
; Acts 15:28, 29. 28 For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things, 29 to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU!”

Eating flesh without properly draining the blood was regarded as “sinning against Jehovah.” This also applies to the Christian congregation, as is made plain at Acts 15:28, 29.
It was not necessary to drain every drop of blood from the carcass before eating it.

If you kill and process meat correctly it can be clean.
But you make a wonderful point. Some J.W's in Georgia just put there son in foster care because they were forced by the state to do a blood transfusion and now they don't want him.
I see nothing Godly in that!
The Bible is clear, you shall not eat the blood or the fat!

I'm not a Jehovah Witness, but I saw a pbs special about a guy who needed a liver transplant and had a hard time getting one cause they can't except blood. I believe its something like they can't have blood leave their body and can't have another "humans" blood inside of theres.

The idea is to drain all you can or wash it away. Hardly anything is 100%, never has been.
By the way, doctors are more and more seeing the benefits of bloodless surgeries all over the world. Quicker healing times, better recoveries, less desease, even better surgeons.

The animals are bled out first which allows them to partake of the meat.
