I believe they thought they were the last humans on the face of the earth and that all humanity would die out. There is no indication that they were bad people. When Sodom and Gamorrah was destoryed they were saved.
What would you honestly do if an astroid hit the earth which is what happened and you saw all these cities destroyed and running into the mountains. Remember they knew the flood story? Living in caves no one around and thinking she said that everyone was dead. All humanity's lives was in your hands and the only way to get pregnant was from your father.
They tried if you remember to get their future sons-in-law to come with them. Which would have been saving the human race. They didn't at that time realize it was a local event.
I think it was a nobel attempt to save humanity.

Lot didn't write his own account so he wasn't try to paint himself any better. I am not trying to justify his actions and neither does the Bible, it simply records that the only reason he did that was because he was barely conscious. Although the dude above me brings up a good point. But once again, the Bible never glorifies his actions, they are simply recording his mistakes.

Your question is going to get removed! I know this for sure because I asked a similar question once! You are right! Not only was lot a sex offender child molester, he was a total diveate! This story is one of many pornographic stories in the bible, same as today they had to have these stories in order to sell the bible. You know as we all do sex sells!!!!

Well, to restate my answer from a few minutes ago, nobody gets that drunk. Lot was a pervert. How many daughters have EVER decided to get there dad drunk to sleep with him? Not too many, I am willing to bet. On the other hand, how many pedophiles blame the victum for their actions? A whole bunch of them! You can see that on court TV.
Also, intoxication interferes with sexual function. If he was stone cold dead drunk, then how did he manage to have sex with both of them? I'm not sure that's biologically possible.

Scapegoating is the original sin.
God becomes angry not so much at the act of disobedience of eating from the tree of knowledge but at Adams and Eve’s avoidance of responsibility. Significantly, the word SIN is not introduced into the Bible until later when Cain murders his brother, Abel. It seems that Adam and Eve’s worst transgression is their scapegoat, and the couples moral life will finally begin when they can acknowledge having done wrong.
When God enters the garden he asks, "Adam where are you?" while Adam & Eve cower behind a bush. Then Adam says "I'm hiding because I'm naked." To which God replys, "Why did you eat of the fruit of knowledge". Adam tells God, "The woman who YOU (passing blame to God & the woman) put here gave it to me" ... the Eve joins the scapegoating by saying, "The snake told me too" ...

Lot didn't do that!
all the prophets were NEARLY perfect. and to twist and corrupt the bible into making him do hideous things is barbaric.

If we're to assume that the Bible is infallible, we'd know that Lot really DIDN'T know what's going on (that's what it says, right?).

Let me tell you something...If you can get it up (and you know what I mean) and are able to orgasm...you are not too drunk to realize what you're doing.
