I'm doing a summer program in the city and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for fun and interesting place to go and eat that aren't very touristy.

Go to Kam Man Foods supermarket on 200 Canal St. in Chinatown. It's got the greastest selection of Asian food, utensils, dinnerware, and other odd things. I go there every time I go to NYC. The sushi is good, and you will most definitely find a unique pair of chopsticks or bowls for display at home.
