much like the bells the priesthood had to wear in their robes when they went into the Holy place?

The Consecration ---the "to be" was the rest of the sentence. You know what the Consecration is I'm sure---when the priest turns the host into the Body and Precious Blood of Jesus (well, not the priest but the Lord through him)

In olden times they used bells to get people's attention.
When church bells rang, people knew it was time to go to church or at midday, people knew it was 12 O'clock noon.
A small bell is still rung during the Catholic mass when the priest presents the consecrated host to the devout.
A bell is also an efficient way to space clean an ambience, that is why some churches have a wonderful sense of serenity or at least to some of us who are sensitive to discern ambient energies.

Sounds like an interesting question ... but IDK most of what your talking about. So, I'll make the popcorn and see if there's anything to learn from others.
