What are your favorite scientific facts from the Bible?

You know, the parts that clearly illustrate that God must be the Creator of the universe, because how else could he know so much stuff?

Mine:

Joshua's long day, which clearly shows God's comprehension of a heliocentric solar system, not to mention gravity.

And....bats are birds.

What are some scientific facts that you have stumbled upon while reading the Bible?

Apparently, many of our Christian friends have failed basic Geometry.

A circle is not a sphere. Round also does not equate to a spherical object. A flat circular object is not a sphere.

That there is a Solid tranparent domelike heaven over Earth. It has water on the other side of it, and the Stars Sun and moon are fixed to the underside of it so that we can tell what time it is and not wander around lost.

The Hebrews used the word that meant round like a circle there instead of the word that meant round like a ball. They were descibing the earth like a Pizza pie. The same way the Flat Earthers do today. The Flat Earth Society actually uses that passage as one of their arguments that the Earth is flat.

The bible is not and has never been a scientific journal. Anyone looking to it for that purpose is ignorant of the purpose of the Bible.

Secondly, Science will never prove religion absolute and religion will never prove Science absolute, because they are simply alternatives to the other.

If you are reading the bible to find anything but maters of faith then you are confused as to the Bible's purpose.

But since were on the subject I love how in Genesis Rabbits chew their Cud....

But you have to also understand the time in which they came from. If the book was written in the past 200 years I would then expect a bit more from it but since it stems from a time before science a bat to them was a bird, because a bird has wings..

As probably would the flying fish if they had seen one. But the intent was not scientific.

It’s easy to believe something is real when it’s sitting in a petri dish. But it’s really hard to believe in something you can’t see or understand. Believers in God are not mindless they are spiritual. Science holds no place for spirituality.

Both try to answer the same questions about the universe. Each is opposite ends of the spectrum. It’s actually very silly to even try to argue Science vs. Religion simply because they are of completely different methods.

So I hope you will not be too disappointed to know searching the Bible for any scientific facts is simply a waste of time. As was probably me writing this long answer lol..

The part where God creates day and night on the first day and then makes the stars and the two great lights (sun and moon) on the fourth day (Genesis 1:19). How can you have day and night on the first day without a star? This describes a dramatic contradiction to the way the actual universe works. To have a day you must have a rotating planet and a sun. Genesis proves that God (or more accurately, the authors of Genesis) could not have known about the structure of the universe, or even the difference between stars and planets.

I don't remember that the earth had foundations or a cornerstone.

"Have you visited the treasuries of the snow, or seen where hail is made and stored? For I have reserved it for the time when I will need it in war."

I have yet to see the treasuries of snow. I had no idea that it was stored away for war.

In one of the Psalms (I'm sorry I don't know which one) David talks about the constalation of Seven Stars, there a little group of Seven Stars, but only 5 are visable to the naked eye, before telascopes and before anybody knew there were 7 stars David wrote it in his song. How else could he have known that unless God told him, proving once again that the Bible was written through men by God

The idea that God seperated light from darkness on the first day, yet didn't create the producers of light, the sun and stars, until the fourth day. And the idea that there could be a "day" without the sun and moon.

the bible doesn't say anywhere the earth is flat that was man's idea. I have read it and it simply doesn't say that.

People in those days went to the tiolet in the water, then retrieved buckets of water to drink or cook with. This was a new idea in sanitary practice.
the nations around them didn't do it and fell victum to all sorts of diseases.

(Deuteronomy 23:12-13) 12 And a private place should be at your service outside the camp, and you must go out there. 13 And a peg should be at your service along with your implements, and it must occur that when you squat outside, you must also dig a hole with it and turn and cover your excrement.

(Isaiah 40:22) 22 There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth, the dwellers in which are as grasshoppers, the One who is stretching out the heavens just as a fine gauze, who spreads them out like a tent in which to dwell,
Not only did they believe that the earth was flat but knew nothing about apmosphere, which we know now how this apmosphere protects us like a bubble.

(Job 26:7)  7 He is stretching out the north over the empty place, Hanging the earth upon nothing;
They had all kinds of stories about what the earth was riding on from elephants to Charles Atless, to turtles backs.
