Play games that strengthen his legs. Put favorite toys on the coffee table so that he has to stand to play with them. Stack blocks up on the table (good for coordination) and knock them down. When some fall on the floor, say "uh oh" and have him pick them up. Now he's doing baby sqats!
Walking/push toys are also great. They offer help with balance. My son wasn't walking at 12 months, either. Good luck!

My son was 14 months when he started walking, he'll walk in his own time. I was desperate for my son to start walking and despite what people said, I was pleased when he did. It makes life so much easier for things like going to the playground, he's no longer crawling in the dirt!! Is he standing or cruising yet?

Pushing the chair is a good thing. My baby did that for a while and then - literally - over a weekend, she just started walking across the room without it. She is 13 months old. I think if you practice having him take steps inbetween 2 people - so someone can catch him if the stumbles - will help build his confidence.

Let him go at his own pace. I work in daycare and some walk at 8 months and some just don't want to until 15-16 months. Don't worry yet, wait until 17-18 months to worry. Plus it will be a lot harder to keep up once he does start walking.

Believe me, let it happen on its own. Both my boys were 8 months when they started to walk and it seems like I haven't slowed down since. My daughter will be 12 months on the 16th and doesn't walk yet, thank goodness.

All babies do things at different times. All you can do, is let him do things when he's good and ready. practice with him. let him stand on his own (if he doesn't already) He will be going in no time. Don't wish him to grow up too fast because when he does start walking, He will be into EVERYTHING!!!! :) you'll be wishing he was still crawling!

Easy... Don't rush him!
He's learning everything on a daily basis, and the last thing you want to do is push him.
He'll get there, don't worry. Sometimes it just takes longer.
What I suggest that you do is help him explore. DON'T PUSH but let him see the options he has.
You'll both be happier in the end, and you'll see a new him!
Good luck!

I walked at 9 months and my brother did at 16 months, it truly depends on the child.
You boy knows that he can get around really fast on his knees and that is his goal.
I wouldn't worry too much.

the more you push him the more he'll refuse.
so let him be.
there is a saying
"when they're younger all you want them to do is walk and talk, and when they get older all you want them to do is sit down and shut up" kind of funny.
-my only tip is bring over other kids who are walkng, if he sees someone else walking he'll want to do it too.
