Honestly no, I'm a christian but I'm sort of irresponsible when it comes to children period, let alone a special needs child. Sorry.

This is an interesting question! I, too, am opposed to abortion; I am also a teacher of children with SEVERE and PROFOUND mental and physical disabilities.
There are so many things I would have to consider. I am a single mom and wouldn't have the financial means nor the spousal support it takes to raise a child with disabilties. (It's hard enough to raise two "average" functioning kids!) I also would have to find another career path to follow; working with such children and living it--especially without a husband--would keep me from being a productive mother or teacher. I have babysat students during the summer break for about 4 years, and it is exhausting to go immediately back to school without a real break. But I love the kids and understand how badly parents of special needs kids need childcare, so I do it happily.
IF I had a good, kind, supportive Muslim husband and the financial means, then I would give it serious consideration. Spina bifada has many differing degrees of severity; I've known kids with just the physical aspect, and a couple with accompanying learning disabilities. I've known an elderly lady who was an accomplished professional who was able to get around with just a cane.
So I guess my answer would have to be "It depends."

Well, first I would talk with my friend and need to know as much as possible about this unborn child.
I can't say I would adopt this child, but in general, I would strongly try to discourage her from an abortion.
I know a person who was born with spina bifida 49 years ago; the mother was told by Doctors he would never walk, work,be able to have babies and would suffer with many disabilities physically and mentally.
He is here, walks, works, has 2 beautiful children and has been leading a good, happy life with problems like anyone born without it would have.
I know "the most beautiful people" in the world are those with special needs of every kind.
I would strongly urge this woman to have this child.
If she is unable to care for this child; someone will.
We are all people with needs, whether now or in the future and it's not easy, but they do get tended to.
No one has to step up to the plate and adopt this child because they oppose abortion.
Who do we think we are to look at people and decide whether or not they are happy, productive,
suffering,etc.?
Perhaps it is the people we call "normal" who are not.

I missed your first post, but believe that I am an expert on this one....
First of all,I am an adopted child....Secondly,12 years ago,I convinced a pregnant mother to avoid the option of aborting an unwanted child. The mother, months later delivered the absolutely beautiful child, only to discover a short while later that the child had a health challenge,as she was diagnosed with a mild non-degenerative condition of cerebral palsy...she has been on anti-seizure medication and is delayed emotionally..but is very intelligent...and has memorization skills that astound people.she is almost scary in her acceptance and curiosity of anyone and everyone she comes in contact with....She is greatly loved by many.....I have helped to support the mother and boyfriend for these many years,by countless hours of free babysitting as well as a great deal of finanacial support...I can not imagine life without her. She is both physically and inwardly a beautiful little girl....I really love her.

Right now she has three opitons.....
1.)inconviance or bring shame to herself by having to raise a less than perfect child whom she obviuosly wouldn't want
2) treat her own flesh & blood like a peice or trash AKA : get an abortion
3) give her child away to a friend like some hand me down.
Maybe instead of thinking of the fast & easy way out, she (the friend) should look into getting corrective surgery done for the child while it's in the womb. Modern medicine has come alone way & this is now an opition.

All you have to do to realize that the answer is NO for most of them is travel to any third world country and see the multitudes of unwanted kids in horrible orphanages.
Then visit any evangelical (or most other denominations) church and ask people if they've adopted AT ALL - the answer is usually no.
Pro-lifers are more concerned with what happens with a fetus that can neither think nor feel to even care if it is aborted, than with alleviating real suffering.

Ok, you found out that the one you are concieving is abnomal or lets say , as you term it with spina bofida. It is still a sin if you ;will intentionally abort that fetus in your womb. It is a sin against God and it is an ffense against the law of man. You hve no right to abort to kill anybody else (human).

Same answer.
Selective birth control.
Since the question poses a situation, you have already stated an opinion.
Besides, many disabled children have become productive people in society.

the toughest section for me is dealing with society. except you have a newborn with particular needs then you definately have no theory how cruel the international would properly be. I continuously theory that if i'm able to make it with the aid of potty education no longer something could be worse. properly.... i became incorrect. The older he gets the worst society is. occasion... on an identical time as in public and he starts chatting with somebody, human beings inspect him like why won't be able to he communicate easy or whilst interior the grocery and he has a soften down via fact he thinks we don't have sufficient potatoes at homestead for french fries. human beings inspect you like why won't be able to you're making him give up. Even had a man or woman tell me one time that if he have been her newborn he does no longer be performing like that for the time of public. My reaction became i'm able to deal with him and his meltdown yet what i won't be able to handle is you lack of expertise and stupidity. yet i assume all of it could remember on what style of particular needs you're touching on.

Well, considering most people become parents to please themselves and not because they have anything to offer their child, I don't think many people would do as you suggest. I don't think that because you favor life over abortion you can be called a hypocrite if you choose to not adopt a special needs child who may otherwise be aborted.
