What would someone have to do to make you believe they were god? (Just to clarify, I'm not planning to announce such a thing anytime soon!!:)

Well I know that even if someone did all the same signs as
Jesus nowadays it would be a trick, but Jesus having control over life and death was pretty convincing. His words and actions backed up who He was. It is interesting to see that instead of accepting the honor and glory that would have came from being able to do what He can do, He lowered Himself down. The words and actions and intentions would have to be all lined up.

Would God try to make anyone believe? He/She/They/It's been pretty lax about that so far?

If God arrived on my doorstep in human form and tried to convince me? I'd expect I'd just feel it/know it, something in the depths of the eyes if nothing else. God's trouble would more likely be trying to conceal it.

Your question reminded me of the book "Lamb - The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" by Christopher Moore (who's written many a fine book). It's a spoof, not meant to be taken seriously at all, and highly entertaining.

I'd leave it up to them. Surely, such a being would know every detail about me, including exactly what it would take to convince me that he exists or just fall short of convincing me he exists. This is more than even I know about myself. Therefore, I'm the wrong one to ask this question. If there were a god here, I'd expect him (or her or it) to be able to convince me of such.

Actually, convincing me of something's existence isn't too hard to do. You've convinced me of your existence without even having met me. So, it shouldn't be too hard for a god to do so.

He was one of us once. I think just like then, there would be few who would truly believe because they would feel it in their souls. Some would be convinced by miracles, and others because they were desperate for a savior (even if it wasn't what they had expected). Personally, I would have to feel it deeply in my heart. I always rely on myself for important spiritual decisions. Especially these days with so many fakirs and false prophets it would take someone who wasn't claiming anything to get my belief.

Joan Osbourne asked the same question a few years ago in an annoying little ditty.

For starters they would have to not be a living, breathing individual in the flesh to be a god. That pretty much invalidates your question for me.

He might be one of us for all we know.
If he was and he wanted me to know, I'm
sure he would give some kind of sign.
Until then I'll live my love as honestly as I can, Treat
everyone as I want to be treated .Love my
neighbor as myself , pray for Gods forgiviness
every day, and thank him for every thing he gives
me daily.

God is one of us. He lives in each and every one of us. some people dont know it but they are just too stupid or too blind to really see whats in their souls and hearts.

Well, it would be easier for me to believe that THEY believe they are 'god'...while they are mistakenly believing they themselves are not crazy.
