It just seems to me that bible-thumpers are a tiny bit too sure of a book written much too long ago.

I think things in the Bible need to be taken with the grain of salt. After all, it's been changed so many times since it was originally written. I find it comical that people insist that the way it is now is the way it was originally written, but look around at how many different bibles there are, how can you be sure yours is the one that has the exact translation of the original writings? I find this lost in translation to be the cause of many contradictions, yet people insist that things in their bible today are exactly how they were originally...
