Every person bears the Imago Dei. (The image of God.) Everyone has inherent worth as a result. We are to love everyone, and share with them what Jesus did for them. Our sin is not any better or worse than anyone else's. We all deserve eternal punishment.

When we say we hate the sin, it is because we know what it does to people. When someone falls into sin, it is tragic. We only want people to know Jesus and be forgiven by Him.

That being said, all sin has consequences. Some experience the consequences here, such as the child rapist/murderers going to jail, and others on Judgment Day.

If you could see through time to when that "child rapist murderer" was an innocent child being violently abused I would imagine that you would gain a measure of compassion. ALL people in the world (through different methods) are trying to do one thing... make that pain inside go away.

It is there way of getting around an issue. The issue being that they refuse to accept gays as normal. To understand this you have to realize that the bible says to "hate the sin and not the sinner". But what dose this mean and where dose it leave us. Its means what you want it to and it leaves us in the middle of that big gray area called life. I know Christians who smoke, I know others who consider smoking to be a defilement of the body. The same goes for tattoos, piercings and various other things. I know a few gays who are Christan and stand by there beliefs as strongly as they stand by there partner.

All this statement really is, is a way to avoid gays and to remove them from any dealings with Christian life and lifestyle while not offending to terribly by saying "its what I believe". People get nervous when challenging someones beliefs... it is considered taboo and wrong in our culture.

Child rapist murderers are committing gruesome crimes and deserve their just punishment.

Gays choose to be gay and as far as I know it's consensual.

I have gay friends but I am not gay, I don't agree with their lifestyle choice but it is their choice and mine is mine. I consider it a sin but I do not hate my friends because they are gay, everyone sins and falls short and I am not to judge anyone, just because someone is gay doesn't make them less of a human, they are people just like everyone else.

It's harder to not despise someone who rapes and/or murders a child (or anyone, for that matter). It's easy for me to dislike the sin of homosexuality, but not possible for me to dislike homosexual people simply because they are homosexual. The REASON I dislike the sin of homosexuality is soley because it is a sin, according to God. I dislike all sin, but I have to be honest: there are some sins I hate and some I don't think are as bad. Rape, murder, terrorizing someone: I hate. Blasphemy, stealing, lying, pride: I really don't like at all, and I probably should hate blasphemy more than I do. Homosexuality, swearing, gluttony: I dislike them only because in God's eyes they are wrong (well, swearing is rude and vulgar, and gluttony is bad for one's health). So, to sum up, in MY point of view, crimes/sins against other people are worse than sins that usually only affect one's own self.

Born to be gay is not a sin. A man naturally as gay oir lesbian is not a sin according to the Bible.

Rape, murder, rob, homicide and other violation of the law of God and the law man or civil law, criminal law are act or offense against God the the law , so it is a sin.Study logic.

I don't think an activity that doesn't harm anyone is comparable to rape and murder, another offensive thing about hardline Christians. But the logic works for those whose beliefs hold that all sins are equal. (I've heard this point debated too many times to believe its universal among Christians, however.)

As Mrs. Betty Bowers says, "Love the Sinner, Hate their Clothes!"
It is one of those stupid idiotic catch phrases they love because they are unable to make any sense out of it. They can parrot it over and over while they do horrid things to other people and still feel selfrighteous.

Yes to Julia, that is it exactly.

You only need to look at how quickly and totally they disowned Pastor Ted Haggard. Even after his miracle cure.

Mathew 5: 44-48

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Because it is true.

I don't know any child rapist murderers, so again, I hate the sin.
