Cash is the most practical gift... a little impersonal, but they will appreciate it anyway... explain that it is due to lack of time and you living out of town.. You can put a nice wishing well card with some personal note to it, so they can keep it and remember you as a special person.
have fun

Cash would probably be easiest. Bringing a gift could be a hassle with the plane and buying one after you arrive there doesn't leave you much time to shop.

Cash or a gift card. If you buy a physical gift, you have the hassle of airport security and possibly customs and I'd worry about it getting damaged. (Not to mention - you'd have to pack it unwrapped, and who wants to hassle with wrapping a gift on the fly?)

A couple would probably like cash more as they can use it on the honeymoon or use it towards their future. It will also be easier to travel with - no hassel of schelpping a gift with you.

Definately cash - what with security in airports (opening baggage and parcels) - it's much easier and I know we appreciated cash to use on our honeymoon. Cash is best!
