I hate getting a shaving rash so I gave Nair a try. I did everything the bottle told me to...tried a small part before to check if I was allergic. Then I applied it the next day, but it completely didn't take any of the hair off! I left it on for the maximum time and everything! What is wrong?

I hate to say it, but it's been my experience that products like Nair (depilatory creams) work for some people and don't work for others. It works for me, but I can't use wax. Don't know why; it works on people I know. So you could try another brand, like SurgiCream, or do another depilatory- they make them in the mousse form now, which I find to be more satisfactory.

Are you sure you picked up the Nair bottle. One time I put some lotion that was sitting
on the back of the toilet thinking it was hand
lotion after I had washed my hands. I even had put a little on my face I didn't even think that it was Nair so it is possible! It should work it even worked on my face so check it out hahahahah I did this at my best friends house.

Did you use the correct nair? There's one made specifically for your face and others made for various parts of your body. Perhaps your hair is a bit too thick for the nair. Did you shower before? Moisture can impede and make the hair harder to melt away

I have tried it too and i have gotten the same results. I do not really understand that either? I think that the ph is lower in the chemicals so its not fully removeing the hair. If you can find some of the old kind w/ a higher ph level it will work best for you. If both fails, do some research on other products.

I think when you first start using nair it does that...same thing happened to me. Just do it again the next day. You'll be glad because with nair you dont have to do it as often as shaving, so in the end it will be a big timesaver!!! :0)

well. i wouldnt use it. i tried it and i got a hugeee rash. it itched like crazy and i gotta whole bunch of scars. i would go back to shaving. cause most people who use nair get an allergic reaction or they just dont like it. or it dosent work. make sure when you shave you wet your legs and then put shaving cream on your whole leg! covering it all! i dont think you should get a shaving rash if you do that. good luck!

I don't know why it's not working. Try again, leaving it on longer. If you still have no luck, try a different brand, like Veet. Also, you don't specify what area of your body you are working on. If it's the bikini area, you can try getting it waxed at a salon. It lasts longer than shaving, grows in smooth, and if you are just doing the part near your legs, is not too painful.

Sometimes it doesnt work if you have thick or coarse hair. I had the same problem and I finally found a razor that wont give me a rash. Schick Quatro Pro. It has the little wire that runs vertical to keep you from get a rash.
