I mean, a government acts based on what is most beneficial for its citizens, usually in economic terms. But where some gain, others lose.

When Jesus fed the hungry in the paradigm of the fishes and loaves, he wasn't being polite. He was teaching them to share.

The actions of Christ and the actions of the Federal Reserve do not match. Would it be a sin to condone an international trade policy that kept others in poverty? Is it possible to shed your beliefs at the ballot box?

Holy cow! You are quite the metaphysical one, aren't you? Anyway, first of all, there is no such thing as sin. Secondly, it's nice that you see the Jesus story as allegory, rather than as the literal truth. Thirdly, It is important to do whatever we can to help those who are less fortunate.

I can remember when...a president assumed command of a governor's malitia, to share the public education system with a minority that was inspired by a well known preacher. Those inspired citizens, assumed power in a passive act of civil disobediance. The nation was judged, and the entire world pivoted on the position of a very nationalistic president. That act, may have cost him his life.

Has anyone here, seen my old friend Abraham? How bout Martin? John? Bobby?

My religion teaches that we must fight against social injustice and poverty. Fanatical patriotism is, to me, a violation of the Ten Commandments (putting one lesser "god", the state, in front of God Almighty). Some people take patriotism to extremes, virtually making a religion out of it, and all but worshiping the flag of their nation as some sort of holy icon. It is wrong not to combat poverty, just as it's wrong to vote for legislation designed to financially enrich small special interest groups while keeping the majority of people entrenched in poverty.

Making people do what you want because your cause is right has nothing to do with what God would approve of. He that hates' his brother is not of God, and the Truth is not in him. 1st John
Something that does not bring Glory to God will not last, and will not ultimately succeed. The ten commandments tell us how to legislate society for prospering of all, laid out in the Pentateuch.
First commandment - Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength- AND THE SECOND IS LIKE UNTO IT- LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF.
After all, God forgave us, so how can we dare to hold unforgiveness towards others, as-WE ARE BARELY WORTHY TO BE FORGIVEN- YET CHRIST DIED AND FORGAVE US AND OUR NEIGHBOR, WHO IS ANYONE WE COME INTO CONTCT WITH.
We are not in this world to be successful by the world's standards
This is a teching and learning field for His sway on our ultimate destiny.
We are bought with a price, and our lives then belong to Him, who saved us from Hell that is reserved for the devil and His angels.
He who gains the whole world but loses his own soul-
The Lord set us here to become humble enough to accept his claim on our life, and He wants' lots of us to Love.
We are then to share and witness to His redeeming Power on our lives, to point to Christ so that they can go to heaven, too- as He bought our way back to the Eden intended-heaven, with him.
That previous is the thing that's really going on in this world and what humans must pass and go through on the big scale. Our free will, to worship or not worship him, must come under the Spirits' guidance to be a whole man- with physical and spiritual destiny, as we are eternal beings.
Satan can use disullusionment and dissatisfaction to make us act on our wrong thought-life to make people see things our way.
It is not us who rules' this world- the world is God's but the useage is satan's , and we must know that God uses anything that happens to further His plan for our lives on this earth. The angels anxiously wait for the plan to all unfold.
One must obey their leaders, but see what they promote, and vote them out and change the laws accordingly. God is sovriegn over all man's actions.
He uses bad leaders and circumstances. If we have problems it does not mean that He is not working all things for His Kingdom goals.
The federal Reserve controls' all U.S. money. our dollar is worth 40c that's why gas is so high.
We abort kids out of want and poverty of soul and situation, but children and people doesn't make poverty- governments do. He is able to keep all things safe that He allows'.
