I think the level of pain is different for everyone. In my opinion, it was about a 9 or 10. I don't take to pain easily and it definitely hurt the next day. I'm pretty sure I only ate soft foods for about a week and then I was fine until I got the wire changed for the first time. Then I was sore again for about 3 days. It hurts, but the pain is well worth it. Good luck!

When you get them on it doesn't hurt one bit. It just in sore for the next few days. On a scale of 1-10 10 being HORIBBLE and 1 being can't feel them. I would say 4 sore. Good Luck!

My braces are only an hour old..it doesnt hurt too bad right now.I would rate it about a 3. Its just kind of a nagging pain...kinda like an ache but nothing that cant be tolerated. I think so far the worst part was the spacers...

I got mine this November. It was not like OH MY TEETH! It was more like MY GUMS ARE SORE AND MY TEETH FEEL WEIRD. I would say 1 being nothing at all and 10 being sooo horrible. I would give the second day a 6 or maybe a 7. The pain is different for everyone though.

I'd give it a 6.5 and then every time you go in for an adjustment it will be about a 5.
Just keep thinking of how great you will look when you get the braces off - that will get you through it.

I'd say about a 3 or 4. It's an annoyance more than a throbbing horrible pain. Just take some tylenol and lay off on the chewy foods till they feel better. Just think of how nice your teeth will look when it's all said and done. : )

Its very tolerable. You will be just fine. Your mouth will be sore to eat the first day or so. Don't worry...It will be so worth it! Scale of 1-10, maybe a 3

I'd say 3, they're not that bad. The first few days & after you get them tightened, they do get rather sore, but lots of ice cream helps =] Good luck! (And think of it this way, after they come off, you'll have perfect teeth!)
