I respectfully disagree with your assumption. US troops have the best training in the world. The Non Commissioned Officer Education System and the Officer Education System is unrivaled.
You point out that the US has more blue on blue KIAs than other countries do. Could this possibly be because other countries have had disproportionately fewer troops in battle?
You say US relies on numbers as opposed to skill. I say you are half right. The US relies on both numbers and skills, this is good strategy. Maybe you should try reading The Art of War by Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu.
The record of battles to wins is quite low when compared to the best countries? The US is a young country but its military achievements are envied throughout the world. Many lost battles, specifically any during the last 50 years, have been lost politically. The civilian population grows tired of war and pressure is placed on politicians. Also, do you seriously think if the battlefield commanders were given free latitude to accomplish the mission by ANY MEANS these battles would be lost? The US fights with rules that the enemy does not need worry about.
Are you former or current military? I highly doubt it.

Definitely not. Although in my opinion not the best either. I might remind Licia B that the troops were out numbered 3 to one but had overwhelming effective air support and armour- proportionally very few actually had to fight because of these. In my opinion the best troops in the world are either British, Australian, or Israeli. I've heard the Canadians are good as well although I cannot confirm or deny this. Mainland european forces have relatively little experience within their ranks. To those who claim that US troops are the best trained in the world, I'd say that this debate has nothing to do with pride, nationalism, or loyalty. The US non commissioned officer system is certianly not unrivaled, many of the best are commissioned and removed from their positions, which would certainly benefit the officer corps, but I hear that commissions are given to ROTC cadets after they graduate? It is the facts that are being discussed. Incidentally, the American Army outnumbered the Germans during in the vast majority of battles they fought in during the Second World War and not once did they lack air superiority. If you wont believe me, all you have to do is pick up your own General Schwartzkopf's autobiography to read it. He is bias about the US army in Iraq '91, but his accounts of the US Army prior to this make 'interesting' reading to say the least.

well first of all, American troops don't rely just on numbers. in almost all the wars fought by USA....the American troop level has been lower then of the enemy. some major examples... WWII, Gulf war (USA VS second largest army in the world at the time), Iraq war, afghan war, Korean war etc.
and how many American troops do you think are patrolling the western Pakistan where bin laden is hiding. only one regiment known as the 'task force 121'. ONE SPECIAL TASK FORCE TAKING CARE OF ALL THE JIHADIES IN THE MOST ****** UP PART OF THE WORLD.
and as far as the friendly fire issue goes....well the reason you know about it is because of our great free nation. United States has the lowest PERCENTAGE of friendly fire considering our military activity. most troops from other countries and probably your country, sit on their *** all year long for a century...mean while we claim the global hegemony because of our brave troops. so obviously we have some friendly casualties but far less then probably all the militarily active countries combined.
in Iraq war.....so far we have lost little over 3,000 troops in over 4 years......do you know how many troops were killed just on D-day alone? double that number just on one side. so just because u heard 12 people talk about how awful the US is doing in Iraq and else where....make sure to pull your head out of your *** first.

Hey Poochie:
Our Troops are actually the best trained in the world.
There are no other teams out there better.
Write it down,now.
In every group of large individuals you will ALWAYS statistically have some bad types.
We in America do our best everyday.
Our troops act on directives from leadership.
Bad leadership will make soldiers act bad.
Don't like the decisions?Help correct 'em!
They have to know we support them in a climate of danger.
Don't insult, if you have a problem, you get in there and fix it.
Otherwise walk elsewhere with those thoughts.

I know that American soldiers are the best in the world . Ask people around the world who are objective. The know when they see an American soldier they know help is on the way! Did you forget the Gulf wars the Allies were out numbered 3 to 1 ?

Apparently you've never served in the US military. Either join and serve or don't put down the troops.
