I Agree, the best answer is to say, your looking to broaden your interests, better money opportunities, discover another side of the career etc. Always say something positive. even its true that he/she was a scum. I had this happen actually and i left them off the resume` It didn't hurt him and It didn't hurt me. When they asked what i did for those 4months, I said I was looking for the best opportunities before jumping into a job. this way. you look better to the Interviewer and that last job, wont destory your chances at the job.

That you wanted to pursue more challenging opportunties, learn new things, work for a larger/smaller company, etc.

NOT that your boss was abusive and hostile - even if its true, it's not the impression you want to give in an interview.

I left because the job did not leave any room for any challenging opportunities to improve not only my skills but my contribution to the company as a whole.
