I use a healthy, balanced dog food called Eagle Pack. Most dog foods that you see at the grocery store and even PETCO and PetSmart sell dog foods that are full of fillers and unhealthy byproducts that can have negative effects on your dog later on in his life. My dog developed many skin and weight problems last year and after doing extensive research, I discovered that the major cause for these problems was that she was on a commercial dog food called Eukanuba since she was a puppy. Eukanuba has a reputation as one of the highest quality dog foods on the market, but if you look closely, their food contains by-products. I decided never to feed her commercial dog food again and immediately switched her to Eagle Pack. My 8 year old Cocker Spaniel lost her excess weight, and her skin problems have improved greatly. She is happy, energetic, and most importantly healthy. The formula she is on is the Holistic blend of fish. It is full of ingredients that make her hair shiny and healthy. Eagle Pack has other formulas, though I personally recommend their holistic formula. Eagle Pack is not expensive ($30 dollars for a 33 lb pag; last my Cocker Spaniel over a month) and completely balanced. You can use the dealer locator at www.eaglepack.com to find a store that carries Eagle Pack near you. Good Luck!

Well, I used to feed Eukanuba and Iams for many years. However, they are now owned by Proctor & Gamble so not the same as they once were. Eukanuba is a decent dog food. The only problem with it and many others is that it's corn based. If your dog isn't allergic to corn then you'll be fine. There are other foods available for around the same price that are better foods though. I feed Canidae here but would also recommend Eagle Pack. Both are protein based and do not contain corn, wheat, soy, glutens, etc. Both use only USA ingredients. Canidae is manufactured in Texas and Eagle Pack is made in Indiana. However, there is nothing wrong with Eukanbua. Canidae All LIfe Stages is a very small kibble and my Chihuahuas love it. I've seen a difference in their coats and others tell me the same about Eagle Pack. Hope this helps a little.

Eukanuba is safe but it's not a good quality food. Out of a possible 6 stars, it gets a rating of 2. Eukanuba foods use corn gluten as one of the top 2 or 3 ingredients (depending on formula) which is not easily digestible. It's not a food that's recommended at all.
If you want your pomeranian to eat a top quality food, you can't got wrong by feeding Canidae, Innova, Wellness, Solid Gold or Timberwolf Organics. None of them have any of the cheap fillers like corn or rice gluten, sheat, sorghum or beet pulp that dogs don't digest.

I don't like the (dry) brand simply because the dogs here don't seem to like it very much. I use to like the canned puppy Eukanuba that was available, but it is hard to find now. I have used IAMS canned and dry or Hill Science dry for puppies the last couple of years if we had to use dog food. The best option is actually human food. It has to stand up to higher standards and testing than pet food, but sometimes it's just easier to use petfood.

I have 3 chihuahuas and that is what I have always fed them. My oldest one is 20 now and I did switch his food to royal canin just recently but that is only because they make a special food just for chi's to help support their heart. Eukanuba is the best food for small dogs that I know of other then royal canin wich makes certian breed specific formulas.

As a general rule any food that you can buy for your dog at a supermarket is not going to be the best. You find much better food and for cheaper at your pet store. Is it good and healthy? It will not harm your pet and has passed a food trial as described by AAFCO. I think you want to know this: I do not or would not feed it to any of my dogs. I'm currently feeding Canidae and Innova but there are many other foods I would feed as well because they are of equal quality to these two.

I wouldn't trust it or any of the other brands that have had recalls in the recent melamine, cyanuric acid etc recalls. Until the reason for all the contamination is clarified and a guarantee is in effect that the food is safe, it isn't worth it. There have been too many recall updates and additions. Most recent were Ol' Roy again (salmonella in a batch of dry food) and acetaminophen, cyanuric acid and melamine in an UN-NAMED pet food. The FDA is not releasing the name of the food! THAT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG.

eukanuba is not safe.
Any kibble you can buy in a store is pretty much filthy trash.
Try the honest kitchen raw diet. You can google it. It's a good place to start.

It used to be a great dog food, but it's "quality" ingredients are now replaced by chicken meals and by products so less money is spent, and more money comes in. I would recommend an all natural dog food such as Ripley's or Holistic Blend. I have switched my dog from Nutro (which also used to be a great dog food, but then turned to preservatives) to Holistic Blend and I have noticed a change in her. More energy, a great coat, and almost no itching and scratching. I give it 5 stars! The website is below if you are interested.

It's okay, not great. You should get a healthier one like "Chicken soup for the dog lover's soul" or "canidae." Read the ingredients- should be all natural without a lot of filler.
