Who can I send the samples to?

Check your local yellow pages under "Materials Testing" and find a local material testing laboratory. Then call them and ask them what kind of a sample they need to make the compression test. Better ask them what they charge to make the test too.

We used to just core drill 3" to 4" diameter samples out of the finished slabs that we wanted to get test samples from, and take them to a local lab to get them tested.

If you are not testing existing slabs, you could just pour the concrete into a plastic tube or into a plastic cup, or into a glass jar, and then just break the jar or peel away the plastic.

normally the company comes to you, when the concrete is delivered to site it is cast, and then 28 days later the concrete manufacturer returns with his teting equpiment and test the compresive stength of some samples, then he takes the average to determine wether or not the required strength has been met.

Im not sure on testers but try tarmac.co.uk
