I think they need to learn a hella lot on cross contamination, even though they got a little better. Mediocre to pretty good artists, I won't name names - most people have that figured out already.

i'm not a tattoo artist either but i do have tattoos. i like the show and i think that it has done great things for the tattoo community. non tattooed people have had a chance to be exposed to people who are getting work done and they can see that not only dirty bikers and prisoners and poor white trash get tattoos. i think it is removing the stigma. HOWEVER many people who are less educated about tattoos also think that the crew at miami ink are the best of the best and that is just not the case. just yesterday i had to school some co-workers on phenomenal tattoos vs. good tattoos and in the end they agreed that there are much more talented artists than miami ink has to offer. so there you go. in the long run i still think it is a good show that promotes open mindedness from people who otherwise would automatically judge.

I am not a tattoo artist but there are artists that are WAY better than the artists on Miami Ink. They are popular simply because they have a tv show. Re: the person above mentioning that the only people that like the show have very few tattoos and don't know much about tattooing... I actually only have one tattoo myself but I am still not sure if I did significantly more "homework" than most when getting my tattoo. I would not go to the tattoo studio because there are many other studios that are much better and from what tatt brat was saying....safer as well.

The show is absolutely fake when it comes to the customers walking in and introducing themselves, it looks so "live" but those people have had to go through several screening processes to get on the show. That plus they charge people way too much for the work. But that aside they do better work then a lot of places.

All that show is, is a popularity thing for people who either don't have any or maybe one tattoo.
I've seen the show a few times and I've seen several very unhappy customers, even though they seem happy for the camera.
Their artist aren't that good, cept for one or two............it's just
the idea of being on television when they get their tat.
It's sad that people really don't know.
