My b/f and i have been dating for awhile and he dropped the love bomb when he was on his way of drunkness. he said he was scared to tell me how he felt cuz he thought that i would push back off of him. Since then hes only says it when we are parting, in texts and after we do the deed. im a lil cunfused. i just cant tell if he means it or if its cuz he feels like he has to now cuz he said it once before. If anyone can help me out with this, it would be great. thank you

I do not think he is just telling you that because he thinks he has to know. Boys are a lot different than girls. They hold back feelings a lot longer than we (women) do. I'm sure he means it and when he was drunk that night and it slipped out he now feels like it is a huge relief that he told you he loved you. Take it for what it is. He cares about you. Be happy for that!!!

i bet he means it, for some people it is hard to start saying it bcuz it makes u feel really vulnerable. he is getting comfortable saying it, by saying it in parting he doesnt feel as much pressure and can sit n rethink over n over the way he said it, beating himself up n over analyzing it. are u saying it n hes just lookin around nervously, or do u feel like he means it when he says it? u have to just take it that he means or he wouldnt say it. a guy that just says it to get in ur pants would have been saying it way b4 now, n would say it to get u into bed n then wouldnt say it after. the fact that he keeps saying it also is good, unless he is only saying it at ur prompting and doesnt seem to mean it. welcome to the wonderful world of reading men's minds :)

If a guy says something when he has had a few to drink, chances are that he has those feelings for you. When guys have a few, often we throw caution to the wind and it is easier for us to deal with rejection because we can blame it on the alcohol. My guess is he really does love you and has an issue with being vulnerable and sharing his feelings.

His true feelings were manifested that drunken night when his inhibitions were at an all time low. Why would you question whether he loves you or not, he says it, does he show it as well?
Lastly, BoredSweetie no wonder you're bored with that ridiculous generalization about guys, I hope you have a lonely life with you and your 100 cats.

Yeah, yeah he does. I have issues with saying it too because, to tell you the truth, guys fear rejection as much as women do. BUT we are expected to be these emotionless rocks. so we are. and then its hard to be sensitive because then were thought of as gay or queer, and if we went into the relationship being "macho" then he could loose the love of his life for opening up.
I hate to admit it, because I hate alcahol, but theres an instance where its good. it pried the truth from his lips. yes. he loves you.

I suspect he means it; you have to take his word. If he didn't mean it he would/will probably stop saying it. A follow-up question could be, do you say it back to him? Don't forget, actions speak louder than words. If he really loves you, he'll show you the respect, affection and attention you deserve; on a daily basis.

it wasn't hard for my bf to say it, well after i told him. but for the first time, we told each other on the beach at night in mexico with millions of stars above our heads...now thats romantic. The times your bf chooses to tell you don't seem like good ones. He should always say "I love you" when he means it and not by habit.

maybe his saying that while drunk is questionable, but if he is still telling you he loves you, why question it? if his actions make you doubt his love, thats legit, but otherwise what exactly do you want? maybe hes not the kind of guy to say i love you all day long- those seem like good times to say it.

I dont know.....why cant he say it to your face or while hes sober, hell how about anywhere. I would feel like him loving me is a secret form everyone else. Ask him why he only says it at these times?
