And if you believe in magic, witches, ghosts, faeries and what not, why not believe in god too?

many reasons. for example, how was anything begun? how did anything come into existence? at some point there has to be something that caused everything, but was not caused by something else. an infinite. by looking around me, i can see that the uncaused cause was intelligent. look at DNA. look at subatomic particles. now, assuming this uncaused cause is infinite, as it would have to be if it were uncaused, intelligent, had the power to create (and therefore was creative), we name it god. i can determine more about god and see his attributes in what he created. and actually, believing in an intelligent designer is much less of a leap than saying everything complex came out of nothing without anything to cause it, which seems to be the general consensus among athiests.
this is one of many arguments for a god. and, of course, if there is a god who created the universe, what are the chances he'd just leave it alone after he created it?
this isn't to say i believe everything ever listed as a miracle actually happened. i just believe miracles exist.
i've never been presented with any valid physical or philosophical evidence for the magical creatures listed, save for witches who do exist. look it up.

Sure there is such a thing as magic. Magic is all about illusion or trickery. There are many people that are good at it. There is also sorcery that is real and spear headed by demonic forces. However, there are no such things as ghosts that we can see as people that die have no connection to the world again. Those things are man made figments of our imagination. I do believe that God can do whatever he likes so I will not count out an occurance of some sort here or there.

I know that there are many people who claim to be Christian, but only believe parts of the Bible. Within the Bible, there are witches. And I have personally talked with missionaries and pastors who have participated in freeing people from demonic possession. I do believe the entire Bible.

Do witches have a "good idea"? No. Satan tricks them into thinking that they can have control over some demons or familiar spirits, but in the end Satan ends up with their souls. That's worse than borrowing money from the Mafia.

Jesus performed miracles...not magic. Read Acts 8 in the bible. A short synopsis...There was a sorcerer called Simon who bewitched people...when he followed the disciple Philip and saw the disciple Peter laying hands and people receiving the Holy Ghost...Simon wanted to know what it cost to buy this power. Peter's reply...
Acts 8:20-23 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy HEART is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
Magic is considered witchcraft and is a work of the flesh...not of God.
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, WITCHCRAFT, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
I hope this helps.

It is only people's faith that is shrinking. Truth does not change because certain people no longer perceive it as truth.

But why take someone else's word for it; why don't you try developing a relationship with God for yourself. You sound like you probably are a skeptic, because you call it "crazy miracle stuff."

Some things you just have to come to know on your own. My only advice to you is to always remember to keep an open mind about everything. I have a feeling you will come to know the answers that you seek.

The Christian God is shrinking.

Not just the God, but the whole mythological pantheon. Back in the day, Christians believed in all sorts of demons and dragons and spirits and whatnot. Many are even in the Bible. For instance, the lilith gets mentioned--that was a female spirit that supposedly had sex with men while they were asleep. Also mentioned are giants and half-demons and other stuff straight out of fantasy novels.

Christians have at least noted that most of these creatures are imaginary, and more and more of them only take the Bible allegorically, so it'll just be one more step for them to stop believing in miracles (and therefore gods) altogether.

I believe in all that crazy miracle stuff because I have experienced those miracles for myself. Scientifically proven by the way. Ask my doctor. I would be more than happy to give you the medical information.

sure, it incredibly is hypocritical. there is magic and witches interior the bible. The Eyptians knew a thank you to tutor their rods into snakes devoid of the potential of God, i might classify that as magic. If magic isn't actual then why does the bible say you're meant to kill witches? yet magic isn't actual and nor is the bible, so we've no longer something to concern.

Don't be cruel. There's plenty of evidence that Christians have experienced that you obviously haven't. That's all. Christians don't believe in ghosts because it doesn't make sense with the Christian view of afterlife. Fairies and Goblins are fantasy creatures that were made up and were never claimed as truth. Now witches are different. There are mentions of witchcraft in some wordings of the Bible.
