So my question is, where was all of the concern when Ruben Studdard won? Jordin Sparks is, at worst, SLIGHTLY chubby...Give the girl a break! (Geez, and I'm not even an American Idol watcher!)

This is what causes Hollywood to become anorexic. I agree with you and everyone else... Jordin IS stunning.
And I don't see anyone insulting incredibly skinny anorexic people (or as much as they do people that are the slightest bit chubby)... Anorexic people have weight problems too.
I'm just saying - we should honor everyone's size and not criticize.

Actually plenty of comments were made about Ruben's severe obesity by both the viewers and medical community. It just so happens that this particular quote got on some blog which got on some video site and took off. Jordin is overweight, that doesn't mean she shouldn't have won. The show can't discriminate fully, though they've tried in their own way. Jordin represents the average African American woman, large and in charge. I just hope she doesn't truly become morbidly obese like so many others in this country. Its not difficult to be in shape and healthy, just people don't prioritize it.

I dont watch it either but This is rediculous! I think she is a stunning girl! Very beautiful. She is bigger bined thats all. And dont even say thats what fat people say because its true! Look at people like Nicole Ritchie she has a very small frame. And then you have people like Queen Latifah, She could never be that small! She has a larger frame! We all have different bone structure and genes! I say Leave her alone!!
