besides John "They looked on from a distance"?

Catholics: is this because we truly are there at the Mass like John but the other denominations look on from a distance.

That is interesting insight but so true. Of all the things that the Protestants took away from the fullness of faith this is the most hurtful to Christians. Jesus said that unless we eat His body and drink His blood we have no life in us but most Protestants ignore this warning from our Lord and Savior. This doctrine of men created by Ulrich Zwingli denying millions of Protestants this experience of being at the one sacrifice for all and receiving His body and blood as He commanded separates so many from His grace. May the Lord have mercy.

The others were being hunted - John came as male member of family with Mary and Magdalene.
