They seem to want to use the bible instead of the laws in making up their minds. I suppose if somebody murdered their own kids they would give them a pass because the bible says to do it if they lip back at you.
The point is not about what crime was committed in case people are confused. It is about the bible being substituted for the laws of the State.
Here is another older gem from the Republican Policy Committee.

Notice how it nicely ignores the fact that in almost every school shooting case the shooters have been bible believing Christians. They simply want to convert the public schools into Christian indoctrination centers.
There is a reason Hitler wanted to strengthen religion as a tool to control his country in the thirties. It works if you intend to dominate your opponents. Nothing is more effective than Zealotry.

Those who wish to live under "THE LAW" will have to keep all 613 statutes. So says James the brother of Jesus."For who everkeeps the whole law but fails in ONE POINT has become accountable for all of it."
In other words,'a miss is as good as a mile'.
The Bible is a wonderful moral compass but as Jesus said"Render unto Ceasar the things that are his and to God the things that are His".
Tithe or give offerings to God.Keep His moral law for yourself.Pay taxes to Govt. and keep their secular law as best you can.
One cannot legislate morality as much as even I would on a few things. You can not sucessfully do it.

If the law was straight forward instead of shades of grey, there would be a lot less lawyers and law suits.
Besides that, no it's not blurred, just interpreted one at a time.

This is just like when I pointed out that Jesus has no legal authority to punish US Citizens. They decided that Jesus' law overrules US law and all other laws in the world. I then accused them of sedition. They didn't like that. Especially since they are usually ones with American flags plastered all over their cars.
Countdown to Theocracy USA ...... I'm moving to Europe, screw these people.

There is every good reason to keep clear separation. Do you read some of the moronic comments made by the religious here? They must be opposed.

I /was/ hoping that we could get the federal laws cut down to just 10.
We could just have the Bill of Rights and then for everything else we could just "wing it".

For me, the two are not the least bit blurry. That being said, religions were probably the first codification of ethical behavior known to man, so religion could certainly be considered the ancestor of civil law.
