I asked the question because there was reference to them having an affair in a recent TV times brochure.

No they were married to other people. Actually Gillian has had a couple husbands. I'm just an X-Files junkie! Miss that show so much. It just made my week.

No. There was lots of speculation at the time, but then Gillian Anderson was in a relationship and David Duchovny married Tea Leoni (Deep Impact). That was such an original show at the time - many copies since, but none as good!

As far as I recall, no they did not. They were dating others and Anderson was even married to one of the cameramen for awhile while filming the show.

no, i don't think so because gillian anderson was already in a relationship at that time. and personally, i didn't see any chemistry between them on screen though their acting/roles were nice...
