They're thought of as heroes and martyr's so yes, that would be their version of a saint.

I'm definitely NOT an expert on Islam, but I don't believe they have saints. I would imagine that there are extremists in Islam who think of those people as martyrs, however; I don't believe, from the Muslim people that I personally met, that the majority of followers of Islam agree with that assessment, however.

generally we do not have saints in islam--although some ppl call certain ppl saints and go to their graves--we are not supposed to have saints

Yes...just like fundamentalists who bomb abortion clinics are thought of as Saints by other fundamentalist radical christians.
Some pro-life people will tell you that the abortion doctors "got what they had coming to them", and "they killed babies, so it was only fair that they should be killed."
And then the coup de gras...."an eye for an eye."
