Will this day be remembered as the day we turned the corner and cut the head off this snake called "comprehensive immigration reform?

Will we, the loyal American patriots, who put unbearable pressure on Congress to kill "comprehensive immigration reform" be admired with the same awe and hero worship as we today admire the farmers and merchants who stood on Lexington Green and on the Old North Bridge at Concorde and and fired the shots heard around the world?

This will be known as the "war" that was won by emails and phone calls.

Good job to everyone that was responsible enough to make their Legislators understand that this bill is a mess.

Awfully close to D-Day isn't it?

No it will not be a national holiday. The immigration reform bill was killed because it offered an "amnesty" which simply would have stimulated more illegals crossing the border.

We need a comprehensive policy to deport illegals and force them to either apply for entry to the US and WAIT, or incarcerate the repeat offenders and then deport them after they've done their time.

Simple as that.

As far as the patriotic stuff, the farmers and merchants that stood on Lexington Geen and Ye Ole North Bridge at Concorde, were immigrants themselves.

The only difference is that they were fighting to establish a country that would establish liberty as its mantra, and impose institutions of what we call modern democracy instead of kings and despots.

Illegal immigrants are merely parasites invading our body and sucking our resources. I don't care what the so-called experts say, they do not belong here and should be expelled.

On the other hand, legal immigrants who have gone through the process and been granted entry to this great nation, should be applauded for their true patriotism. For only a true patriot would take the time and make the personal sacrifices necessary to come to a country LEGALLY and honestly. And these are the people we want and admire as citizens whether they come from Mexico, Botswana, or India.
