Global Warming is happening right now.

As far as preparing for it, if you believe everything that Al Gore says, you should immediately sell your house and move to the top of Mount Everest or you are going to be under water.

Global warming happening right as we speak. It is a normal stage of the earth. Human creations and increase output Of CO2 (carbon dioxide) has increased the process of Global warming. I went to science fair at JPL and I was told that scientists are going to launch a satellite that will map out CO2 all over the world. So we can know which place absorbs the most and how we can use it to our advantage. If you want to help, don't use the air conditioning all the time. Maybe try to install a solar panel. My friend has one and in the summer it reduces all energy cost my 50%. Keep lights off in the house that you are not using. If you want more info you can always look up ways to help stop the increase of global warming.

FYI--global warming is already here. We can-by adopting alternative energy technology and energy efficient systems--both of wich will create jobs and save consumers money in the long run--cut emmissions and eventually eliminate the problem. But it will be with us for decades. How bad the climate changes global warming will be is pretty much up to us. Ignore it, as has been the case--and we will destroy much of the environment and our own civilization. Fix the problem, and both can flourish.

The earth's temperature has gone up and down time after time. There are supposedly good charts out that show BIG peaks every 100,000 years, and smaller ups and downs. The temperature is dependent on energy from the sun, and things that blanket the sun reduce it (volcanic aerosols and dust), and a clean clear sky will increase it. If we set off enough BIG hydrogen bombs, we can induce a "nuclear winter" and wish we were warm again! Or at least break even.

So since we better not increase volcanic activity, we don't want the skies too clean so we get the full sun's energy, it would appear.

Have you noted that with the reduction in particulates out industry smokestacks, the global warming has occurred?

Global Warming is natural, and it seems a lot of variables are being omitted by those with agendas. I see the have-nots trying to pull down the haves. I see greed by those who can profit by deals forced through by threats of disaster. I see futile and ill-considered legislation being pushed through as laws by people who do not understand the problem or the interactions; politicians, not scientists. But want to get fame, or just want to be known for doing something, anything.

The very incomplete recent data and projections from such sound like it will warm up. But history says it will cool off after. Unless history is wrong.

We could if nations all agreed make a lot of sheets of black Poly and orbit them to block solar radiation. Might be cheaper and employ more than trying to get everybody to buy an expensive electric car.

It is my opinion from what I read and observe that we will have a warming, due more to nature than man. But we can do some things about it, in good scale, by for example cutting off the flaring off of natural gas by many oil-producing nations, unless, of course, research can be brought forward to show that this source of CO2 is special and does not contribute to "Greenhouse" CO2.

Saddam set Kuwait on fire, and I never did see any documentation on what that massive fire did to the climate. Awful lot of CO2 from it, tho. But no identifiable temperature surge I see in the nice smooth published curves..

We can stop denuding the forested areas for wood and for land for people, by uniform and enforced laws for all nations against this. But better have more evenhanded and effective enforcement than the UN has shown.

But I am not sure that we can delay something as big as the whole earth and the sun together. Or a built-in natural cycle. We can however plan for it, and adapt to it.

When our scientists and legislators can prove what is the root cause, and separate for example the CO2 from man's efforts from that being released by natural effects, and show that there is NOT more solar energy coming to the earth now through natural causes than through man's efforts, then perhaps we can do something really practical and cost effective.

But until then, I expect more "experts" making politically-oriented speeches and jetting here and there to make them, .And more folks coming up with "solutions" like the carbon exchanges between industries that seem to do little but encourage corruption, and so on.

Prepare? Maybe we need to look to the ancients in warm lands who had a natural form of air conditioning with a cooling tower structure.

And I can start planning my orange groves!! Or maybe raising prickly pear cactus for the jelly. Or maybe move to Greenland and grow grapes!

The data does not support it. The CO2 is so bad wrong the plants have done a good job . Look at the O2 every CO2 molecule has O2 in it so if it were true don't u think u would see a drop in O2 . O2 is still 20.9% and as solid as a rock. If it drops below 19.5 % u will pass out. CO2 is very heavy and if it had increas as much as u think there would be prople dieing in the deep valleys.

global warming is a natural process caused by the sun, not the earth. blaming earth for global warming is like blaming a slice of bacon for burning in the pan when the flame is on high under it. the latest research has shown how the suns unusually highly active cycles, radiance and uv emmission have been recorded and tracked, the earths global temps have paralleled the suns changes in activity. additionally, mars has followed that same path matching the sun, and finally since we've had the voyager probes to the farthest planet neptune with it's slightly erratic(though not as erratic as pluto) orbit, in recent years that we've been able to measure it, it too has also followed the same pattern. so how can this be since 2 of 3 planets don't have people or suvs. because global warming is not manmade. but one planet does have a socialist political party agenda designed to scare people with a nutty the sky is falling scam to follow thier political beliefs. manmade global warning is a lie, to play on peoples fears, to scare them away from a capitolist society into a socialist one with a few elite all knowing bs leaders. i am all for protecting the environment from polutted waters, beer cans and cigarette buts laying around, but to ruin a productive society and scare people into supporting losers of the world with climate change fears is a travesty. and what if we do get warmer, so what, that means more farmible lands and more fresh water and with a more stable temperature world wide it will actually mean less major storm systems. the inconvenient truth is global warming, climate change, what ever you want to call it, is a lie it's nothing we can control unless you know where the tstat is for the sun. change the light bulbs in your house, pedal a bike to work, hold your breath so you don't emmit too much co2 but do it for yourself, cause your not saving or changing the planet.

ps one more thing, if you really don't like pollution, don't buy a hybrid car. the process of making those electric fuel cells is so bad to the environment where they mine it up in canada, nasa uses the area up there as a practice area for the future lunar missions because it's a deadzone around the mine. a new hybrid vehicle has already produced so much pollution a new one equals a hummer that has been on the road for 3 years.

i'm sure this post will be removed as soon as someone who is in tollerant, openminded, and caring says there is no debate on global warming complains about what i wrote. yeah really open to alternative points of views huh.

yes it is happening. it has been caused by green house gases that come from burning fossil fuels such as using gas in a car. There are serious consequenses to this change such as heat waves killing people or flooding of coastal areas. Some things that you can do is not go on frequent airline trips, try to use a bycicle for short distance rides, or turn off an appliance such as a TV or a compuer, whe n you are not using them. Try to save our only planet and please to recycle. =)

It is happening, but it wasn't me! (or you!) There is no ''pending catastrophes of Global Warming'' there is no doubt however a warming going on. Over time it will be followed by a cooling, which in turn will be followed by yet another warming and so on. There is nothing to panic about. The world as we know it will not end. We are not all going to perish as a result of this warming trend. Just about everything we understand to date has a pattern. This wave pattern occurs often in nature, including ocean waves, sound waves, and light waves. All of these can be graphed or illustrated with a sine wave, and as a result can then be monitored and analyzed. In the case of global temperature we just don't have enough accurate data yet to ''plot'' a pattern which would help us predict coming changes. Don't forget, the only accurate recorded data we have dates back only about 100 years, everything else is just theories and guesswork. So you see, it's just a natural cycle. In fact, if we could and did change global warming we may in fact do greater damage to the Earth's future as this current warming may be vital to it's ecosystem!

See, it's alll about the money (our money). Senators in their valiant crusade against global warming will build all kinds of ''green'' projects (with our money) which will all of course go way over budget. They will also give grants (our money) to corporations to assist them in making their factories environmentally friendly. Most of these companies will be owned or will give board positions to these same senators (and their buddies). Of course none of these actions will reduce pollution in fact we will find out years (and billions of our dollars) later that they actually caused more pollution. We won't find out about this without multi-million dollar studies (which as you may have guessed, will be payed for with our money). Don't you know how ''pork barrel politics'' works?

The earth is currently experiencing an accelerated increase in warming. To prepare for it, sell your beach house and move to an elevation greater than 300 ft. Your children and grandchildren will thank you for it.

Think about this; the planet Earth is billions of years old. It continuously changes all the time. Our 'global warming' is just one of the changes...........
No matter what we do - the planet Earth is not going anywhere and will be here long after we're gone.
