Jesus was sent on earth to offer salvation to those that would accept it. Without Him the earth would have been destroyed long ago for its sin. But because of Him we are able to be redeemded in the eyes of our Father, God and have an opportunity to be forgiven of our sins. He died in order to have His blood shed for our sins to be forgiven by the Father. In the same manner that sacrifices were made with lambs and other animals for the attonement of sins before God sent Him on earth.

God Bless You

I am not aware that Christians do not agree on these things. How could they not? Some may believe that His role was more this and less that...but in order to be considered a Christian at all a person must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that only through Jesus can a person be forgiven of his or her sins. Those are the core beliefs of EVERY Christian faith regardless of denomination. Whether or not he died because he crossed the Jewish leadership..or whether he died because he had to suffer in our place really is not an issue and is based on interpretation of scripture and a lot of assumptions on both sides. Once again...when man puts his finger in to the mix....it gets messed up.

God sent His Son Jesus to take on the sins of mankind in order to reconcile or restore fellowship that He had with man when man was first created.

This fellowship was lost when Adam sinned against God and the sin was imputed to mankind. The consequences was physical death as well as spiritual.

Since Jesus is God in the flesh, His righteousness covers our sins so that when God looks upon us He sees the blood of Jesus. Therefore, by accepting Jesus' sacrifice to die in our stead, our sins are covered and we can once again enjoy fellowship with God and come boldly before His Throne.

This blood sacrifice was a once-and-for-all deal. All one has to do is accept this gift and we can live eternally (as it should have been in the beginning) with God our Father.

He came to earth in a corporal body to pay for the sins of
all mankind. Flesh and blood cannot inheirt the kindgom
of God, so God who was Spirit became the God/man.
