depends on what sort of grandparents, and how young they are/or feel!, a meal out, if they enjoy that sort of thing, a big bunch a nice smelling flowers, if they are old fashioned, a hamper of special foods and tea's etc that they wouldnt buy themselves, may be something from a different country, Harrods here in england is a good idea, you dont have to spend lot, good old fsashioned english tea and biscuits! something that shows deep thought about what they like.

Food is usually appropriate. You could take them out to their favorite restaurant - or make them dinner one evening. Something sentimental, too - like having some old family photos reparied and mounted or getting a picture of the whole group mounted and framed. Try to find photos with their parents in them as well as any new grand or great grand kids and everyone in between and make a montage. Even a basket of their favorite fruits or vegetables.

A chocolate devil's food cake, a cherry pie, or a plate of chocolate chip cookies would be fine. Nothing says lovin' like something from the oven.

I think a beautiful bouquet of flowers with the kindest words of appreciation. Or maybe take them to one of their favorite restaurants for dinner, or both, will be great.
