If we had perfect information, we could answer this question more thoughtfully. Since we can only evaluate it with human understanding, I would say that yes I would choose it if I knew without a doubt it would bring me closer to God or enlightenment in that sense.

It is a hard question until you actually had to make the choice. If there was any other path that I could take I probably would. But if the choice was a relationship with God and Jesus and eternity or other there is only one good choice and that is with God and Jesus.
Joni Eareckson Tada didn't choose it but she is sure closer than most! Paralized from the neck down since 1967.

People do choose death and hardship over denying Jesus every day in this world.

Yes but in a way I am already in such a position. My illnesses have made me grow stronger spiritually and closer to my Lord and Savior.

IDK ... As Christan, the scripture Jeremiah tells me that, "God knew me before I was born" ... and Adam & Eve tell of existance in the Garden of Eden as being mindless (eternity without wisdom) ... so I'm concluding that before I made my journey to Earth in my current physical form, well, I was mindless.
Okay, let's say that in this "Nirvana" state that I had intelligence and God asked me to choose ... I guess the choice I would make is dependent upon my relationship with God during this state of Nirvana ... being that I love God now, I would guess that I would pick being handy capped to be close to God.
BTW, it does seem that the handy-capped & menally challenged are closer to God, as if they're still childlike and maintain their innocence with more ease than the rest of us.

"SPECIAL FRED"
By: Stephen Lynch
When I was, A boy of ten ... I had a very best friend ... Fred was kind ... With good intent ... But just a little different
Oooh, Special Fred
Mama dropped him on his head
Now he's not so bright instead
He's a little bit special
Just a little bit
We'd play tag
And he'd get hurt
I'd play a soldier
He'd eat dirt
I liked math,
And spelling bees
Fred liked talking to a tree
Ooh special Fred
Mama dropped him on his head
Now she keeps him in the shed
Cuz he's a little bit special
Just a little bit
I ran track,
Hung out at malls
Fred ran headfirst
Into walls
I had girls
And lots of clothes
Fred had names
For all his toes
Ooh special fred
Mama dropped him on his head
Now he thinks
He's a piece of bread
Cuz he's a little bit special
Just a little bit
One day, when talking to special fred,
He grabbed a brick and he swung at my head
And as he laughed at me
That's when I knew
Special fred just made
Me special toooo!
Now I laugh as I count bugs
I give strangers great big hugs
Next to me, fred is fine
Yeah, he's a freaking Einstein
Ooh special fred,
Now we're not right in the head
Now we're not so bright instead
We're a little bit special
Just a little bit special
That freaker fred made me special
Just a little bit "
