A buzzword.
It doesn't really mean much, but it sounds good and people can easily claim they or others have reached enlightenment without the bother of having to really back up that claim.

nirvana according to a Buddhist monk was when one had no more desires. Well if you are desiring to reach nirvana isn't that a desire. Also desires are good! I desire a lot of things in life and I hope that they come true. It is not plausible to have NO more desires and the deductive reasoning that THEN you will be at peace has many holes.
God gives us peace because he IS peace and we can reach nirvana through his son Jesus but by NOTHING we can do!!

You know what they say..."If you have to ask...you'll never know..."
Or was it: "...If you have to ask...you can't afford it..."
No, wait: "...He who hesitates is lost..."
Oh, I remember! "...Whosoever would be first shall be last, and servant of all..."
Or was it: "...Damn the torpedoes...FULL STEAM AHEAD!!!"...
