If I'm just going for a swim by myself, where can I keep them?

There are no lockers or anything.

This question is reminding me of Pulp Fiction, where he gets the lucky watch from Christopher Walken.

- on the beach with your backpack or towel
- in the key pocket of your suit

Personally I don't have to drive to the beach but when I drive to races I just leave my keys in my backpack in transition or on the beach - if I lock my car, which I rarely do. When I don't lock it i just throw my keys in the console and viola, no worries.

One time in college I had one of those magnetic things that goes underneath the car. It fell off one day and I have never trusted them since.

You could buy a product called "Surf Lock" it is a combination padlock which has a small integrated box. You put your keys in the box and snap it shut and attach/lock it somewhere to the outside of your car, like on a mirror/ grill/towbar, come to think of it, you could lock it anywhere! to a fence/ treelimb/ lamppost...
They are great! You can even reset the numbers to ones you choose and won't forget.

Get one of the magnetic boxes for spare keys for under your car. That way it'll just stick up there while you're out and you don't have to worry about someone snagging it from inside of your clothes. Hope that helps.

The best thing to do, simply because I do it, is to just hide your keys on your tire. Who wears shoes to the beach anyways? Just keep it on your front tire, I've been doing it for years.

Most swim trunks have pockets that hold keys. Sometimes they are on the inside.

There is a little magnet that will stick under your car (fender or wherever). You can probably pick one up at the auto parts or Walmart.

They have neat things now that are rope-style necklaces with a plastic container at the bottom that holds money, keys, etcetera. No one will think they're nerdy because they're a necessity. You can find them at Wal-Mart or a dollar store I assume.

what my family always does is lock the car and make sure no one is looking and then put the keys in the gas tank door thing....if no one sees you then you will be safe but if someone sees you then you are screwed....good luck
