She received bad advice from her attorneys. She should have fought the charge in the first place and had her case decided by a jury. Instead, she was advised to plead "no contest" to save time and money. Her life was placed in limbo and the notoriety of her being in prison threatened her life. Give me a break folks, no one gets a potential death sentence for a DUI unless their actions killed someone.
Paris Hilton was born rich and beautiful. What a horrible crime to have committed. I live in a place where girls her age do silly things all the time, and none of them make the front page of the Enquirer week after week or are subjected to such ridicule on Yahoo.
If you want to get outraged and start a letter writing campaign, why don't you focus on the poor children of the world who go to bed without sufficient food each day.

I know. Paris Hilton is just P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C! Even Martha Stewart did her time and that was like 4 months! Paris Hilton is famous for absolutely NOTHING and I am so sick of seeing her and Nicole Ritchie all over the media, like their God or something! These girls have done nothing to accomplish anything and I hate when people buy into their crap. This is a prime example of why overnight stardom should not be tolerated.

File a case of mandamus at the Supreme Court to nullify the decision of the lower court to release Paris Hilton from prison because it was made in violation of those who were similarly situated and were incarcerated in prison for a longer period of time.

Write a letter to the judge who originally sentenced her to 45 days for something as insignificant as this. If a common citizen did the same, they would have been sentenced to maybe a week plus some community service.

The medical condition is a rash? OMG! You can bet that any of the rest of us would still be in there. But you know, the Hiltons have so much money she could have killed someone and she'd still get electronic monitoring....

The California government is a hoax. I wish your letter could do something, but I don't believe it will. I'd just save my paper and time if I were you.

You may as well urinate on the Sun in an attempt to control global warming.
California is owned and operated by those with money.

im not really sure possibly the gov. of california...but wait isnt that arnold swarznegger?? you could try but i really dont know ..i completely agree with you..i think if you have money the world is completely different..if it were you or me we'd be in jail...if you write a petition i'll sign and i know others that will too although i dont know what good it'll do
..i think we should have poor people or at least not the rich in govt and official decisions because things would be a lot different...oh well good luck hope you find out something!!
EDIT:
try to keep in mind that although shge was set free for dui and the case would be different ..just keep in mind this is the way it is and there are more important things to petition about instead of equality of punishment, like the growing number of those in debt, homelessness, famine, disease, orphans....this pales in comparison ...dont you think??
