who will call on his name at the very last when they realize what they have done, but the key is they MUST call on him. Do you agree?

I said many and not all, not because he didn't do it for all, but it is clear all will not call on him.

Yes. As long as a person has breath, they can repent of their sins and call on the name of Jesus Christ to save them.

I agree that the forgiveness He asked for the Romans that did not know what they were doing certainly can extend to any of us that do dumb things without knowing what we are doing. If we do know what we are doing, and do it anyway, then the forgiveness will not be so forthcoming. We not only have to call on him for forgiveness, we actually have to repent of our wrong doing. It is a two part phenomenon, repent and forgive. Those who die without the law, or the gospel, who do not know what they did, will find mercy in heaven as they then are able to learn the gospel and accept it with an open heart and mind. They will be forgiven if they did the best they could with what they had.

That request was made for every person who has ever lived. The good thing about that prayer is that it doesn't have an expiration date and it still works today. We have but to ask for forgiveness, and it will be given instantly. The work (on The Cross) has already been done.

Either that or the Greek speaking writer of the Gospel was familiar with the line, "You know not what you do" from The Bacchae by Euripides, where Dionysus, the Son of God (Zeus), speaks these words to his accuser before he is unjustly executed.

Written 400+ years before Jesus, and known to the Greek speaking world.

Now tell me the educated, Greek speaking Gospel writer had never, ever heard it.

Jesus, the Dime Store Dionysus.

I believe He spoke for all people. He also said this......I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto me. ( Not a lot. but all). Heres another interesting verse to ponder,......John 5:21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so, the Son gives life to whom He will.

This was said for ALL people (as long as they accept it).

Andrew Jackson sent out a presidential pardon to a man he felt was innocent in a prison in Pennsylvania. The man would not accept the pardon, and thus had to go through with his execution. A pardon is only a pardon if it is accepted.

I believe that if Jesus said that, it brings up an awful lot of questions, such as, "Why would Jesus feel the need to tell Mr. Omniscient anything about anyone?"

Reported for taking away from the suffering of your own Lord. Maybe he was talking about the Romans who were putting him through agony? And why should they need tobe forgiven anyway. Without what they did, there would be no death or resurrection or salvation. Judas is a hero too.

Yes, I do. I'm Glad I did. I don't know where (or what) I'd be, if I hadn't called on JESUS when I did.

God Bless You
