Nhat,
If, in your project question, "cost" refers to 'cost to the state`, the answer is nothing for the bullet. The hunter provides it free, and even pays the state a premium for permission to hunt.
For injection of contraceptive hormones, you must figure in the cost of catching and handling the deer.
(An at least semi-skilled professional will probably cost
better than $50.00 an hour once administrative and transportation costs are included. )
One deer per hour would be a very optomistic estimate.
There might be something that could safely be added to "bait" food for population control, but I doubt it.

It all depends on where you live if you already have a gun the ammo and the permit. Also some guns can't be fired in certain areas so you would have to find out about your states laws. It would cost about $600 for good gun ammo and permits. Also the tags you buy depend if you are shooting with archery it would be expensive too because bow and arrows cost alot. Also in some states you must pass a hunters saftey course to be eligible to get a permit and tags to kill a deer.

Do a search of the Department of Natural Resources or hunting permits for the state in question. Depending on the state and whether you want to shoot a male or female and what means you use to hunt them the cost could varry considerably. As far as injecting the females with infertility, it will be considerably harder since trapping/containing wild animals in order to inject them is a hard and costly operation. I suspect your doing a project on the cost of population control methods. If so it would cost considerably higher to regulate the population with method b than through hunting. Plus the added revenue to the state through liscence sales. :)

You have deer on your property for a good reason, Theres most likely a good food source or bedding area there. If you shoot a deer there , Remove the carcass quickly and dispose of the entrails somewhere other than on your land. The deer will most likely continue using your land just as they have all along with very little if any interuption. It may take a day or two but they will be back.

Depends on where you are hunting and what with. In Illinois the permit is $15.00 but you also need a hunting license and habitat stamp for another $17.00. If you are buying a new shotgun, then add about $400.00 more.Shells can be up to another $10-15 if you dont need to practice.
It is not cheap but most people do it every year so the cost in effect goes down. We hunt for about 5 days so counting food gas, beer and anything else needed for the trip along with the above items, I usually spend about $275.00 per season. Keep in mind that is all costs. Actual shooting, permit and license is only about $35.00.

A cartridge may cost fifty cents to a dollar. The hunting license includes not only deer, and varies, but your state wildlife people, or a trip to your local Wal-Mart, will give you the answer. Using birth control has been tried a few times, but it's expensive and simply doesn't work for population control. It would require getting to the large majority of deer in a region, and that simply isn't practical.

well in alaska if you are a resadent the permit cost nothing. a box of bullets cost about 25.00 depending on what kind you need. Its the guns and hunting gear that cost plus hunting down the deer and shotting the deer.

Any government program that is set up to make female deer infertile would be grossly ineffective and wind up costing the taxpayers billions of dollars.
Kinda like every other goverment program!

The cost of a bullett to shoot a deer depends on the type and caliber of the carteridge you are using . a 30-30 winchester factory load runs aproximately 65-75 cents a round , while the 270 winchester runs about 1.00 per round.
In calif. you have the cost of the license $35.60.........
cost of the tag 25.00.............second tag $19,75..........
then add in the cost of fule for your vehicle or use the govt milage calc. 0.39.75 cents per mile x how far you will be going to hunt.
As for artificiall incemanation of Does..........the fish and ggame does not do it ............it is only done by private game farms /game breeders .

License in WI is $20
Bullet depend on type but $1 on average.
Not sure of injecting them, but I would guess over $100 per deer when you figure in the labor and transportation costs.
Hunting makes money for the government by selling licenses while injecting them costs tax payers money.
