I teach Living Skills at an all boy juvenile detention center. I am looking for simple, step by step instructions on how to set a basic table. Thanks!

Yes they are allowed knives. They are plastic. But this is to teach them for when they are released.

Forks go on the left of the plate, salad fork is furthest away from plate. On the right side, from the plate, it's knife, spoon, then soup spoon. The napkin is placed under the fork unless it's placed decoratively on the plate. Water glass above and to the left, then bread plate in the center, then coffee cup right.
