I have a very large 11 mt old that weighs 25 lbs and wears 18 mt clothes. I just noticed today that he is getting his 8th tooth!!! Is that normal? He looks like a flippin' toddler!

My baby is 13 1/2 months and has 12 teeth - the last 4 being molars which have been in the process of coming in for atleast a month now. She's just under 24 lbs and wears 18 month clothes - but the pants are too long and I have to roll them up. Her daycare teacher says that by 18 months, she will stop growing 'out' and start growing 'up' - aka get taller.

Well mine had all 8 by the time she was 9 months and she got her jaw teeth in shortly after her 1st B day. It is a little big to be around that weight but tons of 11-12 month olds wear 18 month clothes ( it is normal to be 1 size ahead in baby / toddler)

Ps. mine is 17 months now and has 14 teeth

It's totally normal! My son is the same way. He is 12 month and 27lbs...we are on to the 24 month clothes! He's a big boy (in the 97% for height and the 80% for weight). I think it's great...I know he is healthy. The only problem is that a lot of people think he is a toddler. He walks and runs really well and that in combination with his size makes him look older....people expect him to act like an older child even though he is just a baby.

My first child was quite large too. In fact probably weighed in about the same as your's does now.

If he is eating normally and is healthy, don't sweat it too much. Just be sure to give him healthy meals and treats.

About the time he turns 3 I'll bet he has a growth spurt and slim down a lot. During that year mine grew a lot but didn't gain any weight. He sort of evened out.

Well he is almost a toddler after all. As long as the doctor says your child is healthy then you have nothing to worry about. I had the opposite problem with both my kids and still do. My daughter is almost 6 and she looks about 4. My son is 3 and catching up but is still on the short side for his age.

when kids get teeth is completely hereditary unless there is a really powerful malnutritional thing going on. of course, the kid has lots of genes so it's hard to figure out which persons genes are giving him his teeth at this point. there are lots of babies who have all 20 teeth before 18 months old. and clothing sizes are notorious for being unpredictable. jsut enjoy your kid and try not to be too concerned about ways in which he's different from your expectations or from others you know. he's very normal.
