so there's this guy who hangs out at the mcdonald's and the wal-mart where i live. he drives a camper that's got stuff written on it, like horribly misspelled bible verses and stuff. and he parks his camper on the side of the road and walks up and down the street carrying a ventriliquost dummy and he wears a sandwhich board that says (very very badly misspelled) that god came to him in a dream and told him to preach the words of christ through his dummy.

i haven't seen him in a while. i think he may have been arrested.

so, anyone think he was telling the truth?

Well... um... who knows...

I can't see logically why God would want him to use a dummy but God has done some strange things before....

It’s very possible he really had a dream god told him to do it. If that’s the case then was it God or just a dream from eating too many sardines or something like that?

He believes it to be true. As long as is he isn’t making anything weird up or doing anything … well stranger than carrying around a dummy… I can’t see where it would hurt… Other than maybe make some people uneasy or confirming Anti-Theists opinions about us.

As long as he isn’t hurting anyone I really don’t see anything wrong with it. At least he’s not like naked or anything.

That would be creepy..

Are you completely sure that it was the mannequin who was the dummy?

I used to have to chase people like that out of the bookstore, back in the days when I used to work at a bookstore. They're creepy--and they always seem to have the same smell, for some reason.

Jeepers! I think I've seen this guy too! This is a great example of perception reality-he thinks it's real, so it is! But God should have told him how to avoid the cops!

I think he's a convicted sex offender and can't maintain a permanent address because of the proximity to schools and parks, so he stays on the road.

Not atypical for a 'believer'.

Most likely he believes he's telling the truth.

I do hope he has some help though.
