There are many different types of seizures and you can be conscious during some of them, including partial seizures. If you think you've had something that resembles a seizure you need to be examined by a physician. They can be caused by several different things - infection, tumors, epilepsy, aneurysms - some of which are treatable.

I have never known anyone to lose consciousness during a seizure. So my answer would be yes. The person may be non responsive to questions but is not unconscious.

Not right during it, but petit mal seizures can be quite mild and short.

In petite mal seizures you don't actually pass out but I don't think you are cognizant of what is going on around you.
