I went to a second interview for a graduate accounting job and was made a job offer the same day... I received a letter the next day with the job offer stating it will start in August and of the salary... they wanted a written decision which I sent.

How long do I have to wait until I sign contracts or will that be something done when i actually start? I've handed in my notice into my current job already...

It is highly doubtful that you be under contract, most places are hire at will unless you are one of the top dogs in the company.

I don't know enough about the job you are going to, but you probably will not have to sign a contract if it is a full-time internal job. It could also depend on the state you live in.

Lets say you DID have a contract, it would likely be signed as part of your integration period. In other words, probably your first day.

Don't be afraid to ask them for clarifications on this.
