IIf so, please state why and what your religious affiliation is.

I believe everything happens for a reason and our lives take a certain path for a reason that is not necessarily predestined but leads us to where we need to be.

i don't know that everything HAPPENS for a reason, but i think that you can find meaning in everything that happens. everytime something happens you have the choice to learn from it or not. i think you follow your own path.

Events seem to happen for a reason when viewed through hindsight. When looking back at your life, from a neutral viewpoint, there are highs and lows. You can see that the highs would not have happened if the previous lows had not. Also the reason for some things may have little to do with you! You do have an influence on other people, for better or worse, and they could be the reason.

Yes, I believe that everything happens for a reason - but sometimes that reason is just "because it gives me an opportunity to learn something."

I don't know that theres a "Divine Plan" - to me that infers that there is an "end goal". I'd be more likely to go with "Divine guidance" on a broad scale that doesn't necessarily include any sort of long-term "shaping the worlds so that X eventually happens" thing.

I don't know that I believe that every little thing in the universe happens with _premeditation_.

I am affiliated with Jesus and there are 6 verses in the bible that completely agrees with your perspective.I agree we have a choice to obey the Holy Spirit or not.but that is pretty much it .The Bible say everything happens at the time God chooses. He even chooses the time for kissing so if that is true God is running this show weather people like it or not

Nope.
I think we make our own lives and our mistake and our job is to learn from them to be a better person.
It would negate free will and most people believe it comfort themselves through the bad things they go through. The fact is bad things happen to good people. You get out of this world what your willing to put into it. Oddly enough I do believe in karma. But I don't think every bad thing that happens is because you did something bad. Its because you have something to learn.

No, I do not believe in predestination. Otherwise it would be quite difficult to be a Wiccan, the entire idea is taking a postive approach of focusing energry towards making your life better- which seems to me the empowerment of free will. Thanks for the question. : )

Atheist. And things generally do not happen for "a reason".

Two examples: homeless people (why do more of them "need" to be homeless in the USA than in European countries who happen to have a stronger social safety net?) and the holocaust (all those people had a reason for having their lives snuffed out right then?)

Every happens because of a reason. I can't imagine how the present could effect the past though.
