i know this might be hard to hear, but i really think you should get away from that guy. yelling is an indication of major anger problems - especially if your guy can't communicate with you in a calm way. if you have any doubts about him hitting you, i think you should trust yourself and your gut feelings and remove yourself from the situation. i've found that the longer you stay in the situation, the worse it will probably get (and it will also be harder for you to get away - if he turns out to be abusive as you suspect). good luck to you and remember that no one ever has a right to abuse you - mentally or physically.

Oh hall yes! its just a matter of time. You might as well start
ducking now. What are you waiting for, it to happen?
He can change and he will change, but for the worse. He
has only contempt for you otherwise he would talk to you
with respect. Do you have an attitude? If you do then find
someone that is not bothered by it.

I don't think it basically mean that he will start hitting you because he yells.. I think you should sit down with him and tell him how you feel when he yells like that. Explain to him that he can talk in a respective manner without yelling or putting you down..

JUST LEAVE. I don't understand why people write into yahoo answers with these types of questions. You already know what the answers are going to be, before you ask.
I don't understand why so many women/girls write in here saying that they are being verbally, or physically abused by their bf, or husbands. Yet they still stay with them.
I'm raising my girls to be self-reliant, strong willed, emotionally strong young ladies. That know they can take care of themselves, and know they don't have to put up with some guys crap. They also know if some guy does beats them. All He(( will break loose. I'm not afraid of going to prison.
My advise to you is LEAVE, LEAVE, LEAVE!!!!!

Just because he's uncommunicative or has gets angry doesn't definitely mean he'll turn violent... But if he has serious trouble controlling himself and yells or belittles you constantly, then there is a good chance he'll eventually lose control physically.

Regardless, this relationship sounds very unhealthy, and you should get out as soon as possible.

he may, he may not; but he is showing you signs of abuse. Abuse isn't always physical, currently, this sounds like emotional abuse. You can't hear it now, but whose to say the cut downs wont get louder. You also need to look at his relationships with past women, and also his mother, if he doesn't or didn't respect them he wont respect you. He could potentially be abusive. Keep your eyes and ears open.

He sounds like he has some anger management problems, if he can't effectively communicate with you in a civilized, adult manner. This behavior could possibly lead to abuse if he doesn't get help. If he's not willing to get help for his problem, then you need to get out before it gets ugly.

You need to get out of this relationship it's not healthy anymore. Once you lose respect in your relationship it's only going to get worse. Try seeking counseling for both of you.
