"Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world" (Acts 15:18). From the beginning God purposed to glorify Himself "in the Church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end" (Eph. 3:21). To this end He created the world and formed man. His all-wise plan was not defeated when man fell, for in the Lamb "slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev. 13:8) we behold the Fall anticipated.
Nor will God's purpose be thwarted by the wickedness of men since the Fall, as is clear from the words of the Psalmist "Surely the wrath of man shall praise Thee: the remainder of wrath shalt Thou restrain" (Psa. 76:10). Because God is the Almighty His will cannot be withstood. "His purposes originated in eternity, and are carried forward without change to eternity. They extend to all His works, and control all events. He 'worketh all things after the counsel of His own will'" (Dr. Rice). Neither man nor Devil can successfully resist Him, therefore is it written, "The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble" (Psa. 99:1).

Pff. *laughs*
This "divine plan" thing is nonsense--even from the beginning, it's obvious stuff wasn't going according to plan (he didn't want them to eat from that tree, remember?)

God is in control. There are more unbelievers than He would have hoped for, but His plan will be fulfilled.
