Spirituality relates to matters of sanity and of psychological health. It can also be a matter of inner peace and of being at one with yourself.
Spirituality may involve perceiving or wishing to perceive life as more important, more complex or more integrated with one's world view; as contrasted with the merely sensual.
Many spiritual traditions, accordingly, share a common spiritual theme: the "path", "work", practice, or tradition of perceiving and internalizing one's "true" nature and relationship to the rest of existence and of becoming free of the lesser self or ego in favor of being more fully one's "true" "Self".
To be spiritual is to make yourself as good as you can be. To be loving, moral and to create for yourself a set of standards to live by. The act of contemplation about these things is spiritual.

It's like this... Do you believe if a person leads a good life (meaning loving, happy, helping, kind, that if he breaks the law then he should have to suffer whatever punishment the Judge delivers according to the Law? Yes, that's what I believe. You can't murder someone and then go to court and tell the judge that He should let you off because of all of the times when you were being good. God is our Judge. He has made the laws. We are His creatures and He owns everything in all creation since He made it. Therefore, God has the right to sentence everyone who breaks His law to eternal separation from His holy presence. Now if that was all there was to say, then God would seem pretty cruel, but the good news is that God sent His dear Son to pay our sin debt so that we wouldn't have to suffer. Now if you were in court and the Judge sentenced you to the death penalty and a man came up and offered to take your place, then if you didn't believe that anyone would do that for you , you would reject the offer and have to die for your misdeeds. God made a way for all of us to be saved. If you believe Him then you accept what the Lord Jesus did on the cross as payment for the times you have broken God's laws. If you don't, then you have to pay your self.

Being religious involves adherence to the rules and regulations, and the adoption of the beliefs of a religion. Being spiritual is the recognition that one is not the center of the universe; that there is something greater than the individual. It recognizes that there is something eternal, beyond the body, that which we call "spirit".
Being spiritual does not necessarily involve the acceptance of a god. Buddhists do not believe in gods, yet are undeniably spiritual.
Spirituality and religion are simply two different, but related things, just as are patriotism and partisanship.

A spiritual person is one who has a personal relationship with
God that came from trusting Christ as his or her Saviour.
A religious person has head knowledge of doctrine or some belief system but no relationship with God. Some of these think they are Christian and spiritaul but they are deceived.
One has existence without life!
The other has a full life because all their faculties are enhanced through the power of God working in their lives.
One will be received into heaven after the judgment.
The other will be separated from God forever.

Being spirtual can be pegan spirits, but also the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit means the you have surrendered your life to Jesus and you are letting his spirit guide you and make your decisions in life. Religious is legalistic, demanding and repetative just for the sake of doing so.

The person who uses that expression is unable to make a commitment to God but wants God to think that the person is making the committment, as if God can't see throught the crap. In short, "spiritual but not religious" is meaningless.

It means you're religious, but you've bought into this nonsensical newspeak that says religious is bad and spiritual is different.
Although you have a "spirituality" not a religion, you expect people to treat that spirituality EXACTLY like a religion, giving your spirituality "freedom of religion" tax benefits and the rest.
HUMBUG.

To everyone, it will have a different meaning. To me, it means I believe there ia a possibily there is a higher life force/being out there but he is not one that we make him out to be. Religion is church based. And churched are usually there for money. Being spiritual means, to me anyways, that I can still have faith in the world and what is out there. but I DO NOT need to go to church or pray or be a certain way to prove that to anyone.

If you are not religious, then you dont believe in God or gods.
If one is both spiritual and godless, then that is more a mystical, new age, occult even eastern philosophy approach to the supernatural.
